After I save the miracle, I'm bringing you home
When Bruno walked back into his hideout. Sitting on his chair, he smiled softly at the thought of Mirabel's statement to bring him home from the walls.
But, it quickly faded as clustering thoughts circled his head. That voice in his head was talking to him, telling him lies.
She's just lying, Bruno. Mirabel is just like everyone else. She'll disown you, she'll torment your mind even more with lies and deceit. And when you think all hell is over, she'll eventually side with your mother and disown you. Mirabel doesn't love you. She never did. All those things you two did together was all a lie. A cover-up. She doesn't love you.
Bruno's heart began to race as his hands shook. He then started to hyperventilate, breathing like he was trying to swim. He then leaned against the wall and fell to the ground, legs up to his chest. The voice grew louder, still feeding him lies.
Like Dolores, Bruno clasped his hands over his ears, leaned his head against the wall and began to hyperventilate. Everything was chaotic, just like him.
But, as he shut his eyes, he heard a voice. A man's. Smooth and soothing.
"Brunito.", the voice said.
The man opened his eyes and looked around. He then saw a yellow glowing figure. A ghost?
"Who are you?", Bruno asked the spirit.
"Oh, Bruno. My little man. You look just like me. So handsome. Strong. Brave.", the man said, cupping a hand on Bruno's cheek.
The spirit was Pedro Madrigal, his father.
"Papa?", Bruno asked, tears streaming already.
"Mhm. I'm sorry you have to go through this...pain. I need to have a word with your mother. You don't deserve this. But, my dearest corázon, please know that I was there the whole way. Even when you were bullied, teased, ridiculed, and shunned, I was always there."
Bruno was shocked. "What? What do you mean?"
Pedro let out a chuckle. "Remember your rat, Peter? The one that comforted you when you moved in here for the first time? That boy, Patrick, who thanked you for seeing that his mom was going to be better. Or that lady, Patricia, who gave you ice cream after that bad day?"
Bruno nodded. Pedro gave a deep smile and said, "That was me. They were me. Peter, Patrick, and Patricia was me."
Bruno sobbed and hugged Pedro.
"Muchos gracias, Papa.", Bruno said.
Pedro returned the hug and said, "No, thank you. You are a blessing. Don't you ever forget that. Now go and save your sobrina. I need to have a chat with your Mama."
Bruno nodded in confidence and Pedro disappeared. He then heard the argument that Alma and Mirabel had. Furious but determined to make things right, Bruno left the crumbling Casita and threw himself out the wall, his arm throbbing.
"Agh!", he groaned. He and Mirabel locked eyes as she tried to grab the Candle. Praying she makes it out okay, he ran into the forest.
He then found a horse and tamed it as best as possible.
Climbing on top of the horse, Bruno said, "Come on, let's go save Mirabel."
As he (barely) made it out of the forest, he and the horse finally found an opening and zoomed out of there.
"SHE DIDN'T DO THIS!! Woah!! SHE DIDN'T DO THIS!!"
