Mirabel ran into the deep and vast forest that surrounded the Encanto. A mysterious individual had kidnapped Bruno and the two left into the forest.

Then, as Mirabel finally had caught up with the two, she saw a giant pool of water.

"This is the Internal Pool.", the mysterious figure said.

Mirabel grabbed a branch and pointed it at the figure. "Where is my uncle?", Mirabel said in bravery.

"He's okay. But...I've taken you here to see the true side of your uncle. The man he really is behind a scrawny and neurotic figure. You all know him so well, even Alma. But...you all don't understand him, now do you?", the figure, a man, said.

"You don't know anything. I understand exactly what my Tío goes through.", Mirabel said.

"Really?", the man asked. He jerked his chin forward and said, "Jump into the water. And see what really lies behind your uncle's smile. To understand Bruno Madrigal, you must swim in the water that drowned him."

After the man said that, the pool glowed green.

Mirabel, without a doubt and determined to prove the man wrong, jumped into the pool. Seeing nothing from above, she held her breath and swam down. Strangely, she could breathe under the water.

But, what she saw changed her entire mind.

Her Tío has been through so many negative things in his life, she slowly saw his luck drain and his mental state slowly shrink. As tears filled Mirabel's eyes, she began to even question her own purpose in her family. Why was she there? Did she even matter?

However, as these questions of negativity and self-doubt creep in her mind, she felt breathless and began to sink. Her eyes feeling heavy, she let herself go and slowly began to sink.

Until someone hoisted her up from the pool.

"M-Mira? Mirabel!!! Oh man, Juli's gonna kill me."

Mirabel slowly opened her eyes and saw Bruno. He was trying to wake her up and the two hugged in relief.

"W-Where's the guy??", Mirabel asked.

"Who?", Bruno asked.

"T-The-The man that kidnapped you??"

"Um..Mira..I led you here. No one else did. I..wanted you to see my side of the entire story. I didn't mean for you to get lost in there.", Bruno said with a frown.

"I am-"

"So sorry you had to go through that, Tío? Don't be. I did have my bad days and good ones, but that didn't make me give up. I kept on going and prayed, hoping something good would happen. And it did. You were the 'good thing that happened', mi sobrina.", Bruno said with a smile.

Mirabel was, in fact, the best thing that ever happened in Bruno's life.

A/N: Before anyone has a stroke reading this, there was no figure that kidnapped Bruno. It was Bruno himself, but he made it as if he was someone else who led Mirabel to the pool. In other words, Bruno led Mirabel to the Internal Pool, a giant pool of water that allows those who enter it to see the deep and dark secrets of the individual stated in this line:

"To understand (name), you must swim in the waters that drowned (him/her/them/xim).
