Merella's POV
I had heard everything that Camilo had said last night. Honestly thinking back to it made my stomach do flips. I don't know why though. It's not like I like him. Right? I continue to sweep up the floors of the cafe when I turn around and see him. I smiled and waved at him. Then I laughed when he shifted to me and copied me. "Mama, I gotta go now ok?" I shout. She nods and gives me a wink
"Ok, don't do anything to bad hija" I blush and walk outside. Camilo beckons me over.
"Hola, te necestio." I jokingly tease him. His face pales but he quickly recovers.
"I bet you do." He says with a smirk. "Can you come help me with watching Mirabel?" He asks. I nod uncertain as to why we would need to watch her. We walk along the road talking about the party last night until we come up to Luisa and Mirabel. We duck behind a wall and watch as Luisa sings about the pressure she's in. At the end Mirabel hugs her.
"I'm gonna go talk to her" I tell Camilo. He nods and jogs off to go help a new mother with her baby. As I approach Mirabel I picture the cracks from last night. "Mirabel? Is everything ok?" I ask.
She looks at me and smiles. "How do you feel?" She asks. I smile and tell her about what happened with Camilo last night. She laughs and then whispers "Would you be up to an adventure?"
"An adventure to where?" I ask. She looks up at her house and points to Bruno's tower. I nod and we start walking towards her house. When we get to his door and open it I was surprised to see a sand like waterfall. "Welp, let's go" I say grabbing her hand. "For the miracle." We say together. I walk right into the sand and scream as I fall. "Holy crap that's a lot of stairs" I think to myself. By the time we get to the top we are both out of breath. "This is creepy" I whisper to Mirabel. She nods and we walk into the hallway together. Mirabel walks towards a door and suddenly it slams shut behind her. "MIRABEL! Are you ok?" I call after her.
"I'm ok." She says "I'm gonna look around. Wait out there." So I waited and waited and waited until Mirabel gets swept in a pile of sand.
"Did you find anything" I ask. Mirabel just nods and shows me her bag. My eyes widen with questions. "Woah."
