Merella's POV

"You know, your eyes used to be grey." Andres said while gazing into my eyes.

"What?" I questioned. He kinda just stared at my face and didn't reply. A few seconds passed between us with no movement. Then he cleared his throat.

"Sorry I don't know what I was saying." He said welling rubbing the back of his neck. He lifted his head back up to look into my eyes, "Just forget I said anything, ok?" I nodded and watched as he walked back into his house.

I went back up to my room and gazed into my mirror. I widened my eyes, looking at them at all different angles. "I don't know what he was talking about, my eyes have always been blue." I laugh to myself. But as I laid in my bed I couldn't help but remember how he finish my song. I've never sung it around anyone. It took me a couple hours to stop my brain from churning.

I woke up to a bird chirping on my window sill. I walk groggily over to it copying it's tune with a quick whistle. I saw that there was a note attached to it leg and I carefully slide it off. The bird took off as soon as the added weight was gone. I unrolled the parchment and read the small writing. It said "Quiero estar contigo para siempre. I want to be with you forever." It was signed with a C and a heart. I blushed at the gesture. I laid the paper on my wardrobe and headed downstairs. I saw that someone was already waiting outside so I ran to throw the door open. I smiled as I saw Camilo.

"Hola mi vida." He said as he kissed my cheek. I kissed him quickly and offered him an arepa. He took with a quick swipe. Then I noticed that the rest of his family had appeared outside the cafe. I raised an eyebrow at Camilo and he quickly flushed. He was clearly nervous. "Um, so I came here to tell you that my family and I are going away. It'll just be a week but I wanted to come and tell you." I took in a sharp breath and nodded. I felt my vision blur with tears as I hugged Camilo tightly. He hugged me back acting like he never wanted to let go. He did pull apart though. He cupped my face and wiped away the tears that had rolled down my face. I leaned into his hand and closed my eyes. I knew it would only be a week but it didn't feel right.

"Camilo we need to go!" his grandmother shouted. He nodded and kissed me. Then he walked away.

"One week Merella. I'll be back in a week."He said before he left. I gave him a tight smile and as soon as I couldn't see his family anymore I went behind the counter sinking to the ground. I felt tears well up in my eyes again and this time he wouldn't be here to wipe them away. I heard the door open and I jumped up wiping away my tears. I smiled at the guest. I was relieved to see that it was Andres. He didn't say anything he just held his arm open. I ran into the and sobbed into his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Andres. I shouldn't be so upset." I sniffled. He just smiled at me and nodded.

"It's okay Merella. Sometimes people leaving no matter for how long can be sad."I smiled up at him and quickly pulled out of the hug. I was happy to know that I would at least have a friend while everyone else was away.
