2. Antonio's Cermony

Mirabel had to go help set up the decorations for the party so it was just Antonio and I. "Hey, why are you so nervous?" I asked him

"What if it doesn't work." I look at him with sad but excited eyes,

"Of course it will work Antonio, besides if it doesn't then you can just stay hanging out with Mirabel and I" Just then I hear my name get called from downstairs right as Mirabel walks into the nursery. "I gotta go help but i'll see you in a bit" I quickly hug him and slide downstairs.

"Oh thank goodness you here Merella." Pepa says. "We need help with the drinks, can you go help Juleita and your mother in the kitchen?"

"On it!" I say already walking away. I get into the kitchen and immediately start to help. I bend the water from outside and start making the drinks. My mother is busy baking the desserts while Juleita is making the dinner. They're both laughing at some joke that was said before I entered. I chuckle "Mama you have flour on your nose" I gesture towards her nose. She flushed but quickly wipes it off

"Gracias hija" she says and quickly turns back to her desserts. I smile and pick up the tray of drinks and walk out of the kitchen. I walk quickly towards the table before someone can bump into me. As I set the glasses down my father calls my name

"Merella. Merella!" I turn to look at him, and see that he is soaked to the core. I laugh because he must have gotten caught in one of Pepa's rain clouds. I walk over and help him dry off. "Thank you hon." he says.

"Anytime Papa" I say walking away once again. I go back to the table and finish setting up the drinks. I swirl them above my head in fun designs as the kids watch. Then I shoot them all into fun shaped glasses in rainbow order. The kids laugh and run away to go play some more. I take a deep breath and lean against a pillar because my head was starting to hurt.

"Are you ok Merella?" someone says. I look up and see Camilo smile above me. I quickly blush and straighten up.

"I'm fine Camilo" I saw quickly brushing off my skirt. He laughs at me and turns his head as Alma calls him.

"I gotta go but let's meet up again later ok?" he shouts running away. I nod and smile. It was time for the ceremony. I go stand with my parents in the crowd and watch the tiles flip to red and the lights shine on Antonio. He looks petrified. Suddenly he turns to look at someone behind the arch and reaches out his hand

"I need you" He says. I smile as Mirabel walks out and Antonio latches on the her arm. They walk slowly up the stairs and I can see how scared they both are. They get to the top of the stairs and Antonio touches the candle, and slowly reaches towards the doorknob. With a flash of light his door lights up the house and there is a collective sigh of relief. He got his gift, the magic was fine. Animals rush in to the house and the people run up the stairs to see his room. Inside is the biggest tree I have ever seen.

"Wow"I gasp snapping my fingers. I look around and see Camilo with his jaw practically on the floor. I laugh and after they take a picture I walk up to him. "Hola Camilo." I say.

He turns to me and beams. "Merella!" He pulls me into a tight hug and then grabs my hand pulling me towards the tree. Laughing I run behind him. My eyes filled with joy looking at everything.
