There was music and dancing. Felix even got Alma to dance. Dolores and I danced and I laughed. I was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. Camilo and I barely got to talk but that was ok because I was so busy anyways. I suddenly relized that Mirabel was no where to be found. I turn in a circle searching the crowd for her familiar face. "She is probably outside" I said to myself. I push past people smiling and waving. When I finally get out of Antonio's room my head was starting to ache. I see Mirabel crouched over something. "Mirabel, is everything ok?" I whisper. She whips her head around and stares at me.

"Oh yeah, well" Her voice drops as the casita starts to shake. I run towards her and grab her arm to try to pull her away but she breaks free and runs following the cracks.

"Mirabel wait!" I yell chasing after her. We follow the cracks until we see them rushing towards the candle. Mirabel and I stand struck with fear as the candle almost goes out. "We have to go get Alma." I tell her. She just nods and we run back to the party.

"Merella come here, someone passed out!" my mother shouts at me. I sigh and look at Mirabel who is already searching for her grandmother. I rush over to the passed out person and bend some water from my pouch. I move the water over his body and slowly sooth him back into consciousness.

"Thank you Merella." he says as his wife smiles and leds him outside. I smile and then hear a commotion. I push through the crowd to see Alma.

"There is nothing wrong. The magic is strong!" she says and all I can look at is how hurt Mirabel looks. I walk down the stairs as everyone walks up them going back to the party. I look at her hand and see that it's cut. I take her hand and lead her to the kitchen to find her mom. As soon as we find her I let them be. I walk back upstairs and rejoin the party. At this point my head is pounding and I start to look for my mom, but as my vision blurs I hear someone shouting my name.
