"Tell me why I'm here again? I think Ruby made it pretty clear he just wanted you and not Cesar or I." Nina asks as she walks with Jamal to Ruby's house. "Because I can't be alone with him, if I'm alone with him I'll start to feel as if I'm physically being cornered and I'll spill like a can of beans." He says as if it's completely logical but Nina looks at him a bit confused shaking it off. They walk inside and Ruby looks at Nina his smile falling. "I said just you Jamal!" He says before rolling his eyes and returning to his work. "Right sorry. Must have misheard. And Cesar isn't answering but he should be on his way..... oh shoot I forgot he broke his phone." Jamal says as if having a crisis.
"And Cesar? Why would you invite him I specifically said not to!" He says even more annoyed before waving them off making Jamal look to Nina who shrugs. "I didn't hear you say that." Jamal tries to lie before Ruby pulls out a recorder replaying the conversation. "Why are you recording conversations?" Nina asks weirded out as he explains it. "For any future litigation. We have to defen our IP." He had a crazy look in his eye that made Nina grimace as Jamal looked as confused as she had been. "I don't think that's legal. You have to have the two party consent to record a conversation." Jamal says trying distract Ruby over inviting Nina and Cesar over.
"Are you guys sure?" Ruby asks sadly looking between the two who nod both saying a firm "Yes." Which made Ruby smile victoriously before holding the recorder again. "Great just got both of your consents." That made Jamal give him an unimpressed look as Nina tried to think of any conversations he would even want to record of her. She didn't think she really said anything too interesting or anything to make him not trust her.
As Ruby goes on to talk and make demonstrations for the app only Nina listens as Jamal sits in a meditation position. "THIS IS A BUSINESS MEETING!" Ruby scolds out of no where making Nina flinch. As Jamal simply looks to his crazy eyed friend. "And I'm starting to feel that you don't have the mettle to be COO!" He says still yelling as Jamal looks unbothered.
"I'm starting to feel like you should be in an alleyway hosting a party for stray cats." Jamal says making Nina snort as Ruby looks confused. "What?" He asks before Nina steps in. "What he means is- maybe your a little..... stressed." She says the last word as Ruby looks to be ready to defend himself. "Oh that's the way nicer version of what I was gonna say cuz YOUR GOING CRAZY!" Jamal yells making Nina sigh and slump into the couch as the pair go back and forth.
"And there is no app. And since there's no app Nina and I are out." Jamal says trying to sound badass as Nina stands to go with him. She didn't want to be left alone with Ruby when he was clearly stressed out. "There is an app." Ruby says pushing Jamal who removes his fake eyepatch to write. "What's the name again?" He asks and as Ruby says it he writes the initials making Olivia's name. "What are the odds?" Ruby says with denial hidden in his voice, over the fact he was still in love with Olivia. "You're in deep. Deeper then I thought..... honestly I figured if anyone here might be in love it's be Nina." Jamal says casually making Nina look at him putting her hand up in annoyance rolling here eyes.
