Nina couldn't help but go absolutely wide eyed as Jamal began rambling how Olivia and Cesar were going out on a first real date that night. Nina was casually sitting in his desk chair as his closet was wide open showing his roller world map with string and photos.
Jamal trusted Nina to tell her of his process and what he had discovered. When she asked why Ruby wasn't there the boy chuckled awkwardly before telling her the news.
"Poor Ruby.... And Monse.... Both of their first loves got with each other. The irony." Nina sighs sadly as Jamal shrugs but continues to pace his room.
"Two loves doomed from the start but- all this has been causing me stress. Also making me very annoyed." Jamal says stomping a bit harshly as he walks now. "Why?" Nina asks to be comforting and the boy was grateful. He finally had someone to listen to him.
Even his crazy conspiracies and thoughts.
"All this stress in the friend group is making me lose focus on what's most important. Roller world money." He says making Nina smile softly as he slowly sits on his bed.
"Since the beginning getting this money was supposed to be a way to free Cesar from the Santos. Now with all this mushy gushy shit it's blinding everybody, not that any of them have beloved me for one second but I know- I KNOW! That it's real. And the second I find the money- they'll come crawling back like the worms they are." Jamal says his voice going low with evil as Nina lifts a brow.
"Well- if anyone is going to find it- it's you." Nina agrees making the boy smile and point to her dramatically. "And that right there is why you are my new number one best friend. Complimentary will get you everywhere." He says before a loud knock comes to the door and his mother opens it.
"Sweetheart have you seen my-..... well hello." Her eyes look to Nina big smile on her face as she looks to Jamal impressed. "We have a rule Jamal- door open when you have.... Guests." She tries to hide a smile as he groans wiping his face in embarrassment. "Mom we are just friends." The boy tries to say but the woman waves a hand and approaches Nina with a beaming smile.
"And who is this beautiful young lady?" She asks making the girl smile shyly and timidly shake her hand. "I'm Nina. Nina Verro I moved here with my dad a month ago." She says nicely making the woman nod.
She had heard through the neighbor grape vine that her father was a quite wealthy and friendly man. And that his daughter was dating a gang member. It definitely made Jamal's mother a little anxious but she knew Cesar and trusted her sons instincts.... To a certain degree.
