Nina woke up and got dressed before looking at her phone and furrowing her eyebrows. Jamal had both text and called her earlier about something of a blowup. Nina hits the call back button as she goes down stairs to cook breakfast. "Nina finally answering your phone I see. I had a FIMS flare up and I am not okay I told my parents I'm playing in the game today.....IM GOING TO DIE!!!." Jamal ramble yelled in her ear making her move the phone away with a shocked expression.
"Why would you tell them that? You don't even know how to play football. And your not on the team." Nina says stirring the pancake mix as Jamal makes noises that could only be sarcastic scoffs.
"Oh really? I had no idea Nina. Thank you, without you I would have no idea what to do.... If wait. I ALREADY KNEW THAT! I need you to ask Ruby to help me convince coach to let me sit on the bench today." Jamal says making Nina groan and roll her eyes even though he couldn't see it but he could feel it. "Don't roll your eyes Nina this is a serious matter." Jamal says making her look around weirded out that maybe he was watching her. "How did you- never mind Ruby isn't exactly happy with us though." Nina says making Jamal sigh knowing it was true. The pair had knowledge of Cesar and Olivia which broke some weird friend code.
"We at least need to try. Let's get him while walking to school." Jamal plans but Nina blushes and clears her throat. "I can't Oscars taking me to school." She says with a slow voice as the line goes silent. "I'm sorry..... did you just say oscar? Your together?" Jamal asks slowly as if processing what she said and she nods before repeating herself since he couldn't see her. "Yes Jamal, I'm with Oscar officially." She says and the other side of the phone is filled with an ecstatic yes. "Wait your okay with it?" Nina says confused as Jamal explains his happiness. "I need Oscar to tell me about the roller world money well more so lil Ricky. So the more you two fall madly in love the higher chances he will tell me what I need to know!" Jamal rambles as Nina looks really confused.
"Jamal you were speaking way too fast for me to even comprehend what you were saying but- something tells me I don't want to know anyway so I wont ask you to repeat it." Nina says with a huff as she looks for Oscars car he was going to be late.
He said something about picking her up early for a surprise before school, he promised to have her in first period by the time it was over. Clearly that wasn't going to be accurate now.
"HELLO!" Jamal shouts making shake her head and focus on what he possibly could have been saying to her. "Right uh- sorry." She says as he repeats what he had said but a bit more sassy.
"The game starts at 4:30 and is really liked it if you could come support me...... if I even get a plan to work." Jamal says making Nina smile and nod as she also saw Oscar pulling up. "Of course I can't wait to see you get tackled. Kidding. I'll see you at school just text me whether I should come to the game or not." Nina says before hanging up and climbing into the familiar red car giving the man a false glare.
