There were many legends.

Legends of vampires who went hunting at night and desired the blood of humans.
Legends of werewolves who turned into beasts at full moon and killed everything that crossed their path.
Legends of elves who ruled the nature and cared for it.
Legends of fairies who can grant a gift to people or give them an uncurable disease.

Many people think they are just legends. But behind a small hole in the trunk of an old tree there is another world; the world of the fairies. This is the story of two boys that will find something nobody ever thought would exist.

Yawning, the brown-haired boy stretched his wings and shortly after made his way outside, out of his house. He greeted some of his kind and sat down at a table in a small cafe, where he met his two friends Quackity and Skeppy.

"Finally we get to visit other realms. Always being at home is totally boring!" grumbled the tallest of the three, devouring his breakfast.

Nodding in agreement was the boy, whose hair was hidden by a beanie. "Yeah... This is going to be fun! Where do you guys want to go first? I definitely want to go to the fire realm and the wind realm"

The brown-eyed man chewed thoughtfully on his food. "Good question... I think I'll visit the spring fairies first, they're supposed to be the friendliest. But aren't you guys worried about something happening when you cross the border?"

Briefly, the two black-haired looked at each other before giggling and hastily shaking their heads.

"Of course not! We won't get attacked or anything. Will we meet back here later? I want to get going as soon as possible!" the black-eyed one jumped up excitedly.

"Yeah yeah... See you later, you idiots. Take care," George muttered softly, even though his two friends were already over the hill.

And with that, he was alone again. Sighing, he spread his delicate wings and flew off in the direction of the spring realm. After some time he arrived at the border and hesitated briefly. One last time he looked back to the frost realm, where he had spent his entire life since he was little, before he flew over the invisible border and looked around curiously.

All around him was a green forest. Birds chirped from everywhere and sang their songs, but there was no life to be seen except these. The air was warm and fresh, which was unusual for the brown-haired fairy. In his realm it was always cold and frosty, his body was made for it.

A shadow could be seen before something collided with his frail body, knocking him to the ground. The impact was hard and painful, causing the boy to suck in his breath in pain.

"Sap!" a voice exclaimed, seeming to come closer.

"I got him!" spoke the someone who had just sat on the brown-eyed one's body, pressing his face into the soft grass beneath them.

"Sap, I told you not to just attack anyone, man! We're not in your realm, we have peace and calm here, idiot," the first person's annoyed voice grumbled, landing next to them a moment later, if George could trust his instincts and senses. And he usually could.

"Right, I forgot about that..." the boy mumbled, continuing to sit on the body of the poor fairy, who didn't know what was going on at all.

"Can you let go of him now?"

Shortly after, the weight disappeared from his body and carefully the frost fairy pushed himself up so he could sit. Clearly annoyed, he looked at the two boys in front of him, who were obviously the two voices from before.

"Did you have to do that? Really?"

"Excuse my bud, are you okay?" the taller of the two fairies squatted down in front of the brown-haired one sitting on the floor and studied him carefully with his intense green eyes. He wore skin-tight, green-colored clothes and his hair was blond.

A spring fairy.
George was speechless.

He had never seen a fairy from another realm, nor had he ever imagined they would be that beautiful. The boy's voice caused a tingle in the smaller one's stomach and the worried look caused goose bumps to appear on his body.

A quiet laugh sounded from behind the beauty. "Look Dream, he has a crush on you".

And with that, the frost fairy turned bright red. He had never been as warm as he was at that moment, which is why he wished he could go back to his own realm where it was nice and cool.

"Shut up, Sapnap! I bet he's hurt," a gentle hand rested against the brown-eyed man's cheek. "I'll take you to my house, okay? You can rest there."

George could only manage a hesitant nod. A few seconds later, he felt strong arms lifting him up and taking him to a warm, comfortable place. It felt like his cold skin was boiling, the change from cold to warm was exhausting. Even though the warmth wasn't uncomfortable, he enjoyed the chill of the frost realm.

Carefully, he was placed on a soft surface and shortly after checked for injuries by the same gentle hands that had carried him. More than a few scratches weren't visible, which is why the blonde took care of them and gave the one dressed in blue something to drink.

"I haven't even introduced myself yet! I'm Dream and this is my friend Sapnap. Sap is a fire fairy, so he's used to settling first encounters with a fight before befriending anyone. Or at least, he always uses his origin as an excuse to do so."

An indignant "Ey!", sounded from a corner of the room and shortly after, the black-haired boy dressed in red stepped into the smaller one's field of vision.

A giggle escaped the frost fairy. "I believe that with my heart.. My name is George," with those words he sat up and looked around in the room he was in.

"George is a beautiful name"

As the blue-clad looked up he caught sight of Dream's green eyes, which captivated him. He had heard many legends before. Legends of demons, of vampires, of werewolves. Legends of gods, of ghosts, of the undead.

But he had never heard of the legend that spoke of soul mates.
