"No, wait for me! Please, I'm tired!"
"Hurry up."
"No, please, I-"
The little boy fell to his knees, exhausted from many hours of walking without rest. The cold snow soaked his pants, freezing him a moment later as he desperately held out a hand.
"Daddy, please! Don't leave me! I don't want to be alone!" he cried.
Tears rolled down his cheeks as his father, whom he had always looked up to all the years of his life, disappeared into the snowstorm, leaving his son, just 6 years old, for dead.

Tired, the boy opened his eyes and shortly after moved out of his bed to get ready for work at the bar. Plain clothes clung to his tender, cold skin that had never known warmth since childhood.
His blank, gray eyes focused on the drink he was mixing when a familiar person stepped into the corner of his eye, catching his attention.
The black-haired one gave him a smile.
"How are you doing on this rainy day, Karlos?" the man spoke, looking at the taller one with serious interest.
This was how it always went. The younger would ask how he was doing, then how his day was so far, and then silence would follow as the brown-haired boy only gave brief answers. But the gray-eyed one enjoyed the attention of the handsome man with the scar above his eye, because it triggered a little warmth in the older one that no one else gave him.
"Normal," was his blunt reply a few seconds later.
"That sounds good to me! I have to say, I really like the rain. There's something soothing about it when it pelts against the window or drips gently on your skin," dreamy eyes slid to the bar window before moving back to the taller one.
The layer of ice around his heart almost melted at that look. The dark brown eyed man's demeanor reminded him of himself when he was little, young and naive. He had seen something beautiful in everything and thought it was great to be allowed to live.
A soft hand gently touched his arm, bringing the boy back to reality. His eyes landed on the smaller one.
"Is everything okay? You've been so absent...", worried soul mirrors met his own, sending shivers down his spine.
"Sorry, I should get started. We're about to open," his monotone voice left the older's mouth and shortly after he began mixing more drinks as well as washing glasses.
"Alright. If there's anything, I'm always here for you, Karlos," and with those words the boy with the beanie disappeared.
A few hours passed during which Karl fulfilled his job as a bartender and was hit on a few times. So far he was able to skillfully ignore these pick-up lines and continue doing his job, but that changed when a brown-haired man sat down in front of him.
"Hey sweetie, one whiskey please," his calm voice rang out, raising goosebumps on the taller man's body.
He handed the man his requested drink and dared to glance briefly into his green soul mirrors as a gasp escaped his mouth. His counterpart seemed surprised as well, but the gray-eyed one couldn't focus on it as he became quite warm all at once and extremely cold the next moment. His heart beat violently in his chest and adrenaline filled his body as he slid to the ground, shivering.
Right after, he noticed someone kneeling down and speaking to him worriedly, but a loud beeping sound filled his ears, making it impossible to understand a single word. Only when a hot hand touched his cheek did silence settle around him and with wide eyes he stared at the two men in front of him, who seemed to be somewhat reassured by this reaction.
"Karl, say something. What's wrong? Do you need something?" the loving voice of the black-haired one reached his ears and triggered a strong tingling inside him.
'You' a soft voice in his mind answered instantly, causing both of the boys in front of him to blush.
"What?!" they yelled at the same time, to which the taller one looked at them in confusion.
'Did I just say that out loud? Oh God, how embarrassing...'
"E-ehm... So.. how about we go to the back room?" suggested Quackity, to which the two boys agreed.

They talked for a while. And by that I mean a long while.
And then at some point they realized that the others were not only hearing the words that were being spoken, but apparently certain thoughts as well.
Since all three had no idea how this worked, they used the best helper in modern times; Google.
And Google said that some soulmates could apparently communicate via thoughts. After further research, one thing was clear; they were 100% connected and destined to love each other.
Even though this was overwhelming for all three men at first and they each then went to their homes to think about what had happened, none of them were able to sleep particularly well that night.
Quackity was filled with a feeling of emptiness, as if something was missing.
Sapnap was filled with a sense of dissatisfaction, he just couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep.
And Karl? Karl was cold. All these years he hadn't felt cold because his body had blocked out that feeling and gone numb. But now he laid shivering on his bed with several sweaters and blankets over him and just couldn't seem to get warm.Fortunately, the three guys had exchanged numbers and created a group chat, where Sapnap texted after a few hours.
Oh man, I just can't fall asleep. That's so annoying
02:31amOnly a few seconds later, the other two replied, who agreed with him and admitted that they also couldn't sink into the land of dreams.
After a while of texting back and forth, Quackity came up with a great idea:
Let's just meet at one of ours, if we can't sleep anyway.
03:47amEnthusiastically, the other two agreed, and shortly after they all found themselves in Sapnap's large apartment, sitting on his comfortable bed and talking about God and the world.
Meanwhile, the gray-eyed man was still shivering, so the other two quickly wrapped him in some warm blankets and finally snuggled up with him on the bed.
That was the moment when Karl stopped shivering. Warmth melted any ice that had previously constricted his heart and soul, causing a pleasant feeling to flow through his body that the boy would soon become addicted to.
For years he had always longed for something that would release him from his suffering and bring him back to life. And just when he was about to give up his hope, he found two men who were made for him and whom he would love from now on until eternity.
