The quiet clearing of a throat interrupted their eye contact and at the same time their eyes flew to the fire fairy who had made the noise.
"It's all well and good that you seem to have found each other, but I'm still here too," the brown-haired one poutingly crossed his arms, eliciting a soft laugh from the other two.
Once again their gazes met, lingering for a few seconds before finally parting completely, getting into a casual conversation about God and the world. It was simpler than the frost fairy had thought, Dream was incredibly fun to talk to and his friend Sapnap was also very kind.
A few hours passed where they got to know each other better until a thought popped into George's head.
Skeppy and Quackity.
He had completely forgotten about his two friends after meeting the fire and the spring fairy, but now he remembered that he was supposed to meet them.
He wondered if they were already worried.
The blonde must have seen his stressed expression, because his soft voice rang out and brought him back to reality. "Is everything okay, George?"
A tentative smile spread across the smaller one's face. "Yeah yeah, everything's okay, I just forgot that I was supposed to meet up with my friends... I think it would be better if I left now," with these words the brown-haired male rose, but was stopped a moment later by a gentle hand on his arm.
"I'll accompany you, after all, you're certainly not quite well yet and it's already getting dark," green eyes searched for the dark brown ones of the smaller and found them shortly after, as the fairy from the frost realm returned the eye contact.
"I'll be fine"
"I insist."

And so they had ended up in this situation.
Flying around them was a group of fire fairies, ready to beat up the two in front of them. Actually, they just wanted to bring Sapnap home and then fly to the frost realm, however, it had failed on the second part of the plan. Even though George had almost expected that the fire fairies wouldn't just let them go in peace, he was surprised when they were suddenly yelled at and surrounded.
A quick glance at Dream made it clear that he was used to such situations, but still he seemed to be unsettled. Since the brown-eyed one had little experience in fighting and the fairies from the fire realm were definitely up for such, he searched the taller one's eyes to get any idea of his plan. When he got the eye contact he was looking for, however, the sight shocked him. The green eyes were widened, panic lying in them along with fear and worry. An expression the elder would never have expected and triggered something inside of him he had never felt before.
An instinct kicked in, making him grab the blonde's hand and pull him close. His soul mirrors bored into the younger's, soft brown meeting anxious green. A smile graced the frost fairy's lips as he turned to the others.
"Get out of here," his voice was stronger than he would've expected, but achieved the effect he had wanted.
The fire fairies just laughed and tightened their circle around them, which distracted them for a small moment.
And George?
Well, he had always been one of the faster fairies in the frost realm. And he used this now to grab the green-eyed one's hand tighter in the brief moment of carelessness and fly underneath the fairies of the fire realm before taking off towards the frost realm, leaving the stunned hostile beings behind.
After the brown-eyed one weighed himself to safety, he cautiously came to a stop and looked at the spring fairy, who was staring at him with wide eyes, catching his breath.
