When I wake up, Aiden is still here.
Close.
Too close.
My face rests against his chest - I must have moved closer to him in my sleep.
It becomes some sort of addiction: I can't sleep well without him and unconsciously search for his proximity.
It seems this is how my body and mind seek solace.
How else can I explain the fact that I'm actually attracted to Aiden as to a magnet?I lift my head up to see if he is asleep.
A wide smile greets me in response.
"Get some more sleep, it's your day off," the man advises gently.
"If I fall asleep again, I'll wake up late," I murmur.
"So what? What else are days off supposed for?" Aiden laughs, starting to tickle me.
I try to distance myself, but he grabs my wrist and pulls me to him.
I fall on top of the guy, laughing carelessly like a child.
"What so funny are you doing here?" Leo appears in the doorway, rubbing his eyes.
"Just waking up," Aiden replies, pulling a blanket over my bare legs.
I completely forgot that I'm wearing his T-shirt, which barely covers my thighs.I look at Aiden with gratitude.
This idyll is broken by Leo making a running jump on the bed.
"I should have come to you earlier, it's much more comfortable here than on the couch," he grumbles lazily.
"Get up, let's go make breakfast. Let Vivian get some more sleep," Aiden commands.
"I won't sleep now," I say, and want to get out of bed to go to the bathroom, but remember I can't walk in front of Leo in only T-shirt.
Aiden instantly gets my confusion and begins pulling his friend off the bed by the legs.
"Easy, easy, beast, I'll go myself. Jesus!" Leo swears with displeasure.
When I go into the kitchen after the bathroom, wearing my baby blue dress again, the table is laid in almost a festive way.
They bought plenty of takeaway food yesterday.
"Vivian, I'll have to take you to Grace's after breakfast - I have a lot of work to do," informs Aiden out of the blue, looking at me apologetically.
I'm upset, yet I try not to show it.
He has spoiled me too much with attention, trips and gifts, otherwise I wouldn't feel abandoned right now.
"Okay," I agree. "It's strange, I still don't know what you do for living though..."
"We are dealers," Leo quickly replies.
"Dealers?"
"We buy the goods from the manufacturer and bring them to the buyer," he hurries to explain.
"And what are these goods?" I wonder.
"Medicines," Aiden says shortly, clearly having no wish to continue the conversation.
The same secrecy as around the story of Olivia...
Sooner or later he is going to have to tell me everything anyway."Maybe I should go to work? It's kind of wrong to skip the whole day..." I reflect.
"Two stacks of books are crying somewhere right now," Aiden cooes, trying to strike a chord with me.
I give him a disapproving look.
