Great, now I have two Leos.
Vivian is in high spirits which is pleasing.
I amuse myself with a selfish thought that this is because of the meeting with me, and not because of the upcoming party in the bar.
We reach our destination safely.
The street is already crowded with people.
Leo runs towards us.
He opens the door for Vivian and gives her his hand.I walk around the car to join them.
Leo looks us up and down and laughs shamelessly.
"Vivian, you look like Barbie, and Aiden is your Ken...a grumpy version of him," the asshole adds, noticing my facial expression.
"Go easy, man, otherwise we'll leave and you'll have to spend your birthday alone," I cool his jets, knowing full well that the whole bunch of people standing outside has come to his party.
"I'm just stating a fact. You look ridiculous together," the impudent birthday dick continues.
"No one said there would be a dress code here," Vivian utters softly but confidently.
Leo looks at me like he's looking for help.
In response, I just shrug my shoulders and smile boldly.
"Of course, we don't have any dress code, I just wanted to annoy you," my friend admits. "Come inside, take your seats - the place is gonna be packed soon."
I walk slowly behind Vivian, placing my hand on the small of her back slightly.
Everyone turns to look at us like we're aliens.
Okay, everyone turns to look at her.
"You couldn't take off the dress from some more grownup and intelligent doll?" a sneaky remark is heard somewhere from the side.
Carine.
What the devil brought her here?
Vivian's clearly taken aback by such rudeness.
"Keep walking," I say threateningly.
"I'll only go if you come with me," the woman makes the condition.
"Why would I go with you?"
Her audacity knows no bounds.
"To calmly discuss what you told me recently."
"There's nothing to discuss."
"Let's go or I won't leave your doll alone all evening," she threatens.
I try to keep my composure - I don't want Vivian to hear what language I may have to use talking to Carine.
"Vivian, please stay right here. I'll be back in no more than five minutes," I promise.
Vivian looks suspiciously at me and the black haired girl.
"Trust me," I almost plead.
"Oh my God, you people make me sick," Carine makes a caustic face, grabbing my hand and heading for the exit.
All this time I'm trying not to lose sight of Vivian's eyes.
I hope she listens to me.
When we walk away from the crowd on the street, Carine presses her whole body against mine and tries to kiss me.
She manages to lightly touch my lips.
"Are you fucking out of your mind? Is this your calm discussion?" I ask, pushing her away from me and boiling with rage.
