"It's so pretty down here, I can't believe I haven't been here before." I gawked at the scenery in front of me. Jacob lived down the reservation, at La Push. He had parked his bike at his house and we walked down to the beach from there.

"Yeah I know. You'll never get tired of it." Jacob grinned.

"It sucks that I haven't met you earlier." I said as I sat down on one of the big rocks that was facing the sea. The cool breeze felt great against my skin.

"All that matters is that we are friends now." Jacob replied as he sat down below me. I didn't say anything as I watched the waves roll against the shore. "So what is up with that guy you were taking to just now? You seemed angry."

I kept my eyes forward as I thought about Edward. "He's a douche." I muttered.

"Why?" Jacob pressed on.

I thought of keeping it from Jacob as he wasn't part of this huge mess but something about Jacob made me want to tell him everything. So I sighed and started spilling the whole story. Jacob kept silent the whole time, letting me continue till the very end.

"Was I overreacting?" I asked when I was finished, looking at Jacob. He was taller than me but he sat on the rock that was below mine so I had to look down. Jacob stayed silent for a minute and I stared at the sea again.

"I don't think so." Jacob whispered and I almost didn't hear him over the sound of the waves.

"Edward is my best friend but I hate Tanya so much you know."

"I know. I can tell from the way you told the story." Jacob chuckled. "But do you..... like Edward that way?"

"The million dollar question." I mumbled. "I don't know, Jacob. But that doesn't matter right now, does it? Even if I don't like him, he can't go around kissing skanks. He's better than that." I growled.

"And he did promise you that he will not to talk to Tanya." Jacob added and I nodded.

"Are all boys like that?" I asked Jacob as he looked up at me, surprised.

"Hey, I'm not!" He exclaimed. "For one, I know that if I made you a promise, no matter how small, I'll honor it till the day I die." He smiled. "A little dramatic, but true."

I laughed. "You see this is the reason why I love hanging out with you. It's really a shame we didn't meet earlier."

"Don't worry about that." Jacob looked back at the sea. "You're my friend now and that means you're as important to me as my family." He looked up at me. "No matter how other guys treat you, I'll treat you better." Jacob smiled. "After I kick their asses for mistreating you."

I chuckled. "My hero."

Jacob smiled warmly. "Hey, I'm getting hungry, wanna cook with me?" He asked as he stood up and jumped down from his rock. I followed right behind him.

"You can actually cook?" I sounded surprised and Jacob just nodded, smiling.

"Jacob Black, you never fail to impress me every day."

"Come here regularly and your life will never be boring, I promise." Jacob grinned.

"You got it, I'll make it a point to come here every week." I smiled back and Jacob perked up with excitement.

"Are you still a little hungover?" I asked Emmett as we watched the baseball match that was on tv.

"I don't know but I can't concentrate on shit." Emmett groaned as he buried his face in a couch pillow. I laughed and playfully whacked his head.

"Get some sleep dude."

"Yeah I think I should too. Rosalie wants to meet me tomorrow and I can't meet her looking like a drunkard." Emmett said as he stood up and trudged up the stairs. "Goodnight Bells."

"Night!" I shouted back and continued watching the game. As I lifted my legs up to put them on the coffee table, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out and saw that it was a message from Edward.

I'm not going to leave things like this between us.

I need to talk to you. Please?

Humor me.

Just once. If you're still mad after taking to me, I'll stay away.

Edward was spamming me by the minute. I sighed and texted him my reply.

Fine, I'll talk to you on Monday.

He replied in a second.

No! I can't wait that long, Bella. I'm coming over right now. We can go for a ride in my car.

Before I could even reply him, he sent me another message.

2 mins ;)

I groaned and switched off the tv. I was still in a tank top and my slacks so I ran upstairs to grab my Harry Potter hoodie. I wore it and came back down just as I heard a car in our driveway. I picked up my phone and house keys and walked out of the door, closing the door behind me. I walked to his car and got in without saying a word. Edward stared at me for a few seconds before he started driving.

"I'm so glad you agreed to meet me." Edward whispered.

"Well, I didn't really have a choice, did I?" I replied coldly.

"Bella, I'm really sorry. You've no idea how bad I feel." Edward continued driving but his eyes were on me.

"Watch the road." I said and Edward tore his eyes away from me. He drove silently through the night and we came to a stop right outside the playground we used to come to when we were younger. I looked out of the window and smiled slightly as I saw the old swing set that Rosalie and I used to fight over for.

"I've missed seeing that smile." Edward whispered and I turned around to face him.

"What did you want to say to me anyway?" I asked.

"I'm sorry Bella, you mean more to me than anyone else and Tanya is not even a percent as worthy as you are to me. I know Tanya kissed me and I didn't push her away or stop her in time but I swear, it didn't mean a thing. Watching you walk away with Jacob twice, hurt me more than anything else." He paused. "Plus, Alice is refusing to talk to me too. I can't go on like this!" Edward's hand flew up in the air and I chuckled. Edward saw me grin and smiled too. "Oh thank God."

"Hey, just because I laughed doesn't mean you're forgiven. Will you keep your promise to stay away from Tanya?" I asked seriously, pointing my index finger at Edward.

"Yes ma'am, Scout's honor."

"All right, you're forgiven." I smiled as I tapped his nose with my finger. He chuckled and leaned over to hug me.

"I'm so glad we are okay." He whispered and I nodded.

"So how was your day?" Edward asked as he started the car again, making a turn to go back to my house.

"It was fun. Jacob and I spent the whole day talking and enjoying the sea view. He lives down at La Push, it's amazing there! You should come one day."

Edward smiled briefly but kept his eyes on the road. "So is Jacob like your best friend now?"

I looked at Edward, a smile forming on my lips. "Well he's a great friend but he's no you. You can make me angry all the time but you'll still be my best friend. Quite miserable for me though." I joked and Edward stared at me.

"Oh Isabella Swan, you've made the wrong move by saying that." Edward gave me an evil grin and I laughed.

"Just shut up and drive."

"I've missed this." Edward said and I smiled.

"Me too. Thanks for coming all the way here just to apologize again. I'll see you on Monday." I said as Edward came to a stop outside my house.

"Anything, anytime for you." Edward whispered and he hugged me again. I felt him smile against my hair and I smiled too.

"See you." I whispered to him as I got out of the car and jogged back into the house as it was getting cold. I looked out of the window and saw Edward staring at the house before he took off down the street.
