"Damn damn damn!" I yelled as I ran out of the bathroom. I was running seriously late for school and today was the day that Emmett had to meet Rosalie for breakfast, leaving me alone when I needed him the most. I would have called Jacob but I didn't want to waste any time hence I flew around my room, trying to put on my clothes and pack my bag at the same time.
My phone was buzzing on my table but I ignored it. I gathered all my belongings and ran out of the door, picking up my phone on the way. Before I could check who I had gotten the text messages from, I heard a few knocks on the door.
"Ugh." I groaned as I opened the door. Edward was outside, leaning against the door frame casually as he had his hands in his pockets. I raised my eyebrows and dropped my bag that was already sliding off my shoulders. I didn't even entertain him as I ran back into the house to take my other books.
"Wow Bella, calm down." Edward said as he picked up my bag from the floor.
"Dude, I'm hella late." I took one last look around the house and ran back to Edward. "Thanks." I muttered as I took my bag from him and my coat from the rack. "What are you still doing here?" I asked as I pulled him away from the door and locked it behind us.
"Don't ask, just come." Edward said as he took my hand and pulled me to his car.
"Edward, I've a car too." I protested.
"No time to start it plus Emmett said it has a flat tyre." He laughed as he opened the passenger door of his car for me.
"Damn him." I grumbled. "Okay, speed to school!" I exclaimed once Edward got into the car.
"Time to go Fast And Furious style." Edward stepped down on the accelerator hard and the car flew forward. I grinned as the cold wind blew in my face.
"Why are you even here anyway?" I turned to look at Edward.
He kept his eyes forward but a grin formed on his face. "I kinda woke up late too. Emmett texted me that he was leaving with Rosalie and asked if I could drop you off since your car....you know." He laughed.
"Wow." Was all I said. "But Edward, you can't keep doing this." I whispered.
"What am I doing?"
"This!" I pointed a finger between Edward and me. "Jacob was already mad that I had dinner with you that day." I looked down at my hands. "Plus it's only purely coincidental that both of us keep ending up in situations like this."
"Bella, don't do this." Edward whispered as he looked over at me.
"Keep your eyes on the road man." I scolded.
Edward immediately shifted his eyes back to the road and said nothing. Thankfully we had reached the school by now and I glanced at my watch. We both were so late for our first class that it didn't even matter if we rushed now.
Edward and I walked in silence to our class and snuck in by the back as usual. Once we got to our seats, neither one of us talked for the whole lesson and honestly I was feeling a little bad for what I said to him earlier.
Once class ended, I slowly gathered my books, wondering if I should just skip the next class but Edward called my name and snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah?" I asked as I got up from my seat.
"You look sick, are you okay?" Edward had a look of concern in his eyes.
"Yeah I'm fine." I nodded and walked out of class with Edward right behind me.
"I can drive you home if you want?" Edward offered and I stared back at him.
