"You sure you want to go to school? You should be resting you know." Emmett said as we walked down the stairs.

"Emmett, I'm fine. Don't worry. It's just a flu." I replied in a deep nasal voice. In truth, I was feeling like total crap. But I had an important test today and I couldn't miss it. I wore a thick sweater with jeans and knee length boots, trying to get as warm as I could. Emmett helped me with my coat and we got in our car, making our way down to school.

"Trust me, Alice wouldn't allow you to come to school looking this bad." Emmett smirked as he looked over at me. I gave him a faint smile and leaned my head back, trying to get some sleep before having to endure a whole day of boring lessons. When we reached school, Emmett walked me to my first class. We were early today so I had a few minutes to spare before class started. I took out my phone and looked through the text messages that I missed last night.

Jacob:

I've a surprise for you this weekend, think you'll like it :)

I sighed. Jacob sent that almost 13 hours ago and I haven't gotten back to him. I quickly started typing my reply.

Hey sorry Jake, I am kinda sick so I didn't check my phone the whole of last night. Well I'm already excited for the weekends. See you on Saturday!
xx Bella

As our teacher walked into class, Jacob's reply came in.

Suddenly? Dude, take care. I'll drop by to check on you tomorrow, all right? Get some rest.

J

I smiled as I read his message. I put away my phone as Mr Grey started walking around, taking attendance. I took out my books and tried hard to pay attention despite the drowsiness from the medicines that threatened to take over.

"Bella Swan! You need some rest, would you get home already?" Alice scolded as I sat down next to her at the lunch table. I ignored her as I leaned towards Emmett, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Alice, I don't think this is a great time to nag at her." Jasper cut in and I smiled at him.

"I'm fine, there's only a few hours of school left anyway." I whispered. "I'll be okay."

Alice shook her head but let me be. Edward came in then, looking at me with worried eyes.

"Geez Bella, what's with you?" He asked as he came over. I tried to lift my head up but it actually felt physically impossible.

"Sick." I muttered.

"Don't you want to go home then?" Edward asked and Alice nodded her head vigorously.

"Nah I'm good."

Emmett pushed an opened yogurt carton to me. I took it in my hands and as I took my first scoop, my phone buzzed on the table. I ignored it and continued having the yogurt, a little hungry from eating nothing since last night. Edward sat next to Emmett, still eyeing me, probably hoping that I would change my mind and decide to go home.

My phone kept buzzing but I didn't check it. Whatever it was, it could wait till I got home. I was too exhausted to entertain messages.

"Bella, you look awful." Rosalie whispered. I laughed and lifted my head from Emmett's shoulder.

"I think Emmett has seen worse." I mumbled. My voice was refusing to get any louder and it was tiring to even try to talk clearly.

"I think that you should go home too." Rosalie continued. Alice placed her hand on mine, encouraging me to leave. I tried to frown but obviously failed.
