Edward's POV

"Blue! No wait! Red?" Alice kept walking up and down the room, changing her mind by the second. Rosalie and I rolled our eyes as we watched Alice talk to herself.

"Guys! I need help here!" Alice's voice rose an octave as she stared at Rosalie and I.

"We did try to!" Rosalie snapped. "But you didn't let us."

"Alice, listen to me." I said. "Bella likes the blue and silver combination, so why not go for that?" I raised my eyebrows. "Emmett doesn't care about themes or color codes anyway." Rosalie nodded in agreement.

"Blue and silver is nice. We could do that!" Alice cooed and Rosalie sighed in relief. "Okay, Rosalie you and I have to do some shopping." She started pacing around the room again. "Edward," she looked at me. "You're in charge of the guests for now. Once the decorations are bought, you can put it up with Jasper." She instructed.

I nodded and stood up to collect the clipboard from Alice. We were planning Bella's and Emmett's surprise birthday party and we had decided to have it in three days, on a Friday night.

"Call all of them." Alice emphasized on the word 'call'. "People don't read their text messages and even if they do, they will forget about it. If people send you to their voicemails, hang up and call them again." Alice droned on and on. I held my hand up to stop her.

"Alice, this isn't my first party." I reminded her. "Go get your shopping done, I'll be done with at least half of this huge list when you're back." I flipped the pages that were on the clipboard and there were at least 3 pages back to back with people's names on it. "Wow." I muttered to myself.

"Okay! Then it's settled, Rosalie let's go!" Alice sang and Rosalie got up from the couch. "See you soon, little brother." Alice swung her bag over her shoulder and took her coat. Rosalie followed behind her and I watched them drive off.

"Damn." I whispered to myself as I dropped back on the couch and read the guest list back and forth. I didn't even know that Bella and Emmett knew this many people. But then I realized that it could mostly be all of Alice's acquaintances.

I sighed and picked up the phone to call the first person on the list.

"Port Angeles has almost everything!" Rosalie shrieked as she walked into the living room.

"Yeah, see you on Friday." I said for the 100th time before hanging up the phone. I turned around and saw the two ladies dropping all their bags on the dinner table.

"How's the guest list coming?" Alice asked immediately. She didn't even seem tired from the shopping she did all day and that's one thing I liked about Alice.

"Great, I guess. Most of them can make it. I've placed a tick against the names of those who are coming." I handed Alice the clipboard and she took a look at it herself.

"Wow, you did reach a lot of people. I'm impressed!" Alice praised me and I rolled my eyes.

"Now it's your turn, I don't think I can continue saying the same damn lines to people anymore. And it's even more awkward when I'm talking to people I don't even know." I complained.

"Oh little brother, grow a pair."

Rosalie burst out laughing and I smacked the back of Alice's head.

"Okay, I guess I'll get to the guest list now. Jasper should be coming over soon, we can start decorating once he's here." Alice walked over to the kitchen and sat on one of the high chairs. She took the house phone and started dialing.
