Even after your split you and Marcus still chatted often. You knew he was struggling recently after coming back from injury he hasn't been on the best form and was being doubted by the public.

You was watching his game earlier and saw he missed a goal he should've got. Just the look on his face broke ur heart, you knew it was hurting him to not be as good as he used to.

A bit later you was doing some cleaning and you got a text

Marcus
Can I come over please I need you right now x

You:

You put on a jumper and waited for him. A while later the door knocked, you got up to answer it.

Marcus looked devastated so you immediately pulled him into a hug

You heard small sobs from him.
"Oh Marcus" you said trying to comfort him. "Come sit on the sofa let's chat"

You pulled him along to the sofa and sat next to him, you held his hand in yours

"I just feel shit y/n" he sighed

"Why" you asked

"I've not been the same since Injury I'm fucking up everything and everyone's starting to hate me" he said

"I'm sure that's not true, you was out for so long it's gonna take time to get back to how was Marcus" you gave him a small smile

"I just feel so alone" he said and a tear slipped, you pulled him over so his head was resting on your chest

"It's okay"
You whispered and left a kiss on his head

You messed with his hair for a while to relax him. He got up and looked at you.

You rested your forehead on his.

"Just know that your not in this thing alone, there's always a place in me that you can call home" you whispered

He moved his head back and looked in your eyes, then looked at your lips and next thing you knew he was kissing you

You pulled away "Marcus"

"No" he said and kissed you again

He eventually pulled away. "I love you"

"Marcus" you said again

"I mean it, I wish this never ended" he said

"I love you, but we have to take it slow Marcus" you sighed "just test the waters for now okay"

He nodded and kissed you again.

"Thanks for comforting me" he said

"You know I always will" you smiled.
