Isabela. Y/n was never sure how to feel about her. She wasn't the nicest to Mirabel, but Y/n could tell she tried her hardest to help Mirabel, the village, and the family in her own ways. On top of that, the pressure put on her by her abuela to be perfect was a lot to cope with, and she seemed to handle it well.

Isabela came down from the balcony using vines that she had grown to resemble a swing, and as she lowered herself down gracefully, flowers that had been knocked out of their places by Pepa's stress whirlwind bloomed once again, even more colorful and fragrant than before.

There were many murmurs of thanks from around the courtyard as everyone got back to what they were doing and the movement throughout the house resumed. Isabela met Mirabel at the base of the stairs, leaving the swing to rise back up as she handed a bouquet to her aunt and turned to walk past her sister. "You know, sis, if you stopped trying so hard, you might not be so in the way."

"Isabela, don't be rude to your sister," tried Y/n as Isabela continued away from them. She got no response.

Turning back to Mirabel, Y/n spoke again. "You should get those supplies to your mama, I know she's been waiting on them."

"I'll do that, thanks Tí- um, Y/n" Mirabel stumbled over her words in an embarrassed way as she tore her eyes away from her older sister before stumbling off to the kitchen.

This wasn't an uncommon occurrence, having the kids slip up and almost call Y/n Tía. Honestly, Y/n wouldn't have minded, but Alma often went into a bit of a tantrum when she heard Y/n being treated as though she was a real part of the family. Only Alma felt this way, though, so Y/n didn't care all that much.

After Mirabel had disappeared into the kitchens, Y/n went to see if Alma herself had any tasks she could help with. All around, she saw the Madrigals helping ordinary people to decorate and get everything ready, using their gifts to speed things along.

Y/n couldn't find Alma anywhere, though, so she just went back to her spare room by the kitchen where people knew they could find her if they needed her.

As she laid on the soft fabric of her bed, staring at the ceiling, some odd feeling brought her senses to alertness. She didn't sit up at first, but had the unique feeling that she was being watched. Trying not to appear alarmed, she slowly got up and glanced around the room, seeing that the door was still closed, the window was empty, and she was alone in the room. That is, until she spotted movement in one of the gaps in the wooden boards of her wall.

"What-?" As soon as Y/n spoke, the person seemed to have decided they must have been spotted, and disappeared. Y/n ran over to the crack in the wall, seeing nothing there anymore and wondering if she had just imagined it. It didn't feel like she had, though.

She knew who she should ask about anyone sneaking around in the house. Dolores would have heard anyone out of place, and she would surely know who it was or be able to find out. She was definitely the right person to go to in this situation. The only problem was finding Dolores.

Despite the multitude of people around the Casita, Dolores was nowhere to be found among them, and wasn't in her room when Y/n checked. It was odd for the girl to be this hard to find, but then again, all of the Madrigals were busy now that it was the day of Antonio's gifting ceremony.

"Dolores?" tried Y/n, speaking out loud to try and draw the attention of Dolores's gift. "I know you can hear me. I need your help with something."

Despite Y/n's best efforts, though, Dolores did not show herself.

Sighing, Y/n decided to try it after Antonio's gift ceremony, where Dolores would have to appear.
