Bruno woke up in the middle of the night with a gasp, sitting up before he was even fully awake in cold sweat.

He looked around his tower, which was very dimly lit by the moonlight coming through from the window in his vision cave. Y/n was sleeping next to him, but he managed to get out of bed without disturbing her from her deep sleep. He could just make his way out the door, stumbling down the stairs. He would have fallen if Casita hadn't saved him.

He didn't know where he was going, just somewhere where he wasn't trapped between his childhood walls.

He didn't see the eyes that peeked out of a door behind him, watching him leave.

Eventually he made it to the banks of a river that ran near the house. He sat down on the sand, still trying to process his dreams.

This was always a problem for Bruno. Sometimes his dreams were prophetic, and sometimes they were just normal nightmares. He had always struggled with separating the two, and when they were too similar, he was always frightened they would come true.

Tonight he had seen Y/n, the two of them running through the fields over a ravine, her smile as she ran ahead of him, leaving him trying to keep up. She turned to look back at him with a bright expression on her face- and then she fell. He ran to grab her hand, but he was too late. He could only watch helplessly as she fell.

Then he woke up.

Now, he sat next to the river, tears dripping down his face out of fear and confusion. He didn't know when he had started crying, but now he sat under the moonlight, trying to calm himself down and convince himself it was just a nightmare. It wouldn't happen.

He flinched as a branch snapped behind him, and whirled to see Y/n herself, still in her pajamas. "Mi amor?" she asked, clearly concerned. "What's wrong?"

Bruno reached up to his own face, trying to dry his tears on the edge of his shirt, but they kept coming despite how he tried to stop them. "I-it's nothing- it's stupid."

Y/n sat down on the sand next to him. She knew how hard his dreams could hit him sometimes. "I don't care how stupid it is, osito, I'm here to listen. Still, you don't have to talk about it."

She pulled him close to herself, and he curled into her chest, giving up on trying to hide his tears from her. "You were gone.." he whispered between sobs. "I couldn't save you.."

"Oh.. Oh osito.." she said, running her hand through his curly hair as she always did when he cried. "You never have to worry about saving me. I'll always be here. I promise."

They sat like that next to the river for a while, listening to the water running by, and once Bruno stopped crying Y/n distracted him by pointing out all his favorite constellations, which were shining bright on this clear night.

A bright pair of eyes watched from the trees, until the face smiled softly and left them alone together.

Eventually, the couple got up and walked slowly back to the Casita, never letting go of each other's hands for even a moment. Once they got back to Bruno's tower, they laid down next to each other, staying close to each other's warmth.

Bruno fell asleep quickly next to her, and Y/n kissed him softly on the forehead. "Buenas noches, mi amor.."

Once they were both asleep, there was only one person awake left in the house.

And she smiled in her own bed as Dolores heard her tio and his girlfriend go back to sleep.

A/N: Here's a bit of hurt/comfort for yall, sorry it's such a short chapter. More will be coming later! Also, I'm not sure if I wrote it clearly, but Dolores was the one to watch Bruno leave, not Y/n. She went and woke her up, and sent her to comfort Bruno. Just some clarification in case it was confusing. Have a good day/night!
