That night, at dinner, Y/n got her food and sat at the table. Nobody tried to sit at her right,  since that was always Bruno's place.

Even when everyone else was seated and Bruno was nowhere to be seen, Y/n didn't worry. He was always a little bit late to meals, she had come to expect it.

Only once a few minutes at the table had passed and everyone had started on their own topics of conversation was Y/n concerned. Was he really so deeply disturbed at the idea of them being in a relationship that he wasn't showing up to meals?

Suddenly, Y/n's appetite was gone. She stared at her food, and once it wasn't suspiciously early she excused herself from the table. She took her plate with her, and was soon out of sight of the table.

Once Y/n dragged herself out of her thoughts, she found herself standing in front of Bruno's door. She paused for a moment, wondering if she was brave enough to knock, until she decided who cares and knocked on it, loud enough to be heard from the vision cave.

Bruno's POV

He sat in the vision cave, no longer staring at the image on the glowing tablet. He didn't need to, it was branded into his mind. Instead, he stared up.

When the tower had been redesigned, they had put a glass ceiling over the vision cave, so Bruno could look up at the sky and see the stars.

That's what he was doing now, until he heard a knock on his door.

That's probably Mama, wondering why I'm not at dinner. Bruno sighed and stood up, walking down his stairs to get the door. He tried not to look too exhausted, but he had tried time and time again to see something different in his future. There were many, many vision tablets depicting the same thing piled up in his vision cave, which he planned to destroy later so they weren't so easy to find.

If his visions weren't changing after this much effort, this must be an important thing in his future.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to see Y/n standing there with a plate of food.

"Um- I was worried when you didn't show up at dinner, so I came to bring you some food.." Y/n was suddenly nervous, all of her bravery she had summoned when she knocked gone.

Bruno was nervous too, both of them having butterflies in their stomachs.

"Oh- uh- thank you." They stood there awkwardly for a moment, before Bruno coughed and said,  "Do you- want to come in?" He opened the door a bit wider, offering.

Before Y/n could say anything in return, though, a voice rang out from the courtyard, and both of them walked over to the balcony to see what was happening.

Standing by the front door was a tall man with dark hair and eyes, tan skin, and a cocky attitude. Y/n guessed the last part from his body language, how unconcerned he seemed at Pepa's thundercloud.

"Who are you? And why are you in our house?" This clearly wasn't the first time Pepa had asked this, and once again he did not answer.

Felix rushed over once he saw what was going on, gently grabbing ahold of his wife's arm. "Mi amor, relax, think of clear skies."

Pepa took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Y/n always found herself in awe of their relationship, how Felix's patience helped Pepa keep herself under control. They were perfect for each other.

"Yeah, lady, relax. You don't need to worry about me," said the man. The last bit was aimed at both Pepa and Felix. Something was off about his voice, though, and the fact that Y/n didn't recognize him was alone concerning.

Pepa, however, instantly cooled down. Her cloud vanished and she visibly became more relaxed.

"Indeed. What's your name, friend?" asked Felix. He hadn't been hostile from the beginning, but now he seemed even less worried.

"My name is Diego Sanchez," he said with a smile. "I've come to learn more about your magic."

"Why would you need to know about our magic?" came a new voice. Camilo was standing on the edge of the courtyard, seemingly confused about this Diego as well.

"I come from another family with magic, one outside of Encanto."

A newcomer. This was worrying. Nobody new came into Encanto, and the fact that there was other magic was even worse.

Camilo was surprised too. "How did you get here, then? The mountains are impenetrable."

"Not anymore," he said. "I had heard legends of Encanto, stories of magic and peace. Once the mountain split in half, I came to discover that it was true."

"How wonderful! You're the first visitor we've ever had!" said Pepa. She seemed weirdly enthusiastic.

"It's kind of weird, though, Mama, isn't it? People don't just show up here normally.." Camilo was evidently unsettled by how his parents were acting towards this new person.

"There's no need to be suspicious, kid. I'm simply here to learn and make friends."

Camilo relaxed, believing this man instantly. That made Y/n even more suspicious. She grabbed Bruno's hand, tugging him back inside his tower.

Once she shut the door, she immediately turned to him and said, "Something's wrong."

Bruno nodded. "That's the man I saw in my vision. He wasn't lying about having a gift."

"Do you know what it is?"

Bruno shook his head. "No. My vision wasn't specific enough for that. I was barely able to push far enough to see his face."

Y/n sighed in frustration. "I have a bad feeling about this."

"Maybe he's really just here to learn," suggested Bruno.

"But if he comes from a gifted family, why would he need to ask us?" countered Y/n.

Bruno couldn't find an answer to that. "I... don't know. It just seems a bit paranoid to suspect him without even talking to him."

"That's the thing, Pepa, Felix, and Camilo did talk to him. Didn't you see how weird they were acting? It's strange."

Once again, Bruno couldn't argue. He sighed. "Yeah, you're right. But how do we learn more if we can't talk to him?"

"We just have to listen," said Y/n.

Then an idea hit them both at once. They looked at each other and said in unison, "Dolores!"
