Time has passed, flying by in the blink of an eye, it seemed. Y/n and Bruno had been together for a full year now. It had been a wonderful year, one full of fun times and calm moments together. Both of them were deeply in love.

Now, Bruno was sure he was ready for the next step. He had set a date for their one year anniversary, and was planning a picnic for the two of them.

He planned to propose marriage.

All he needed now was a ring.

He knew what he wanted it to look like, and he had spent so much time perfecting the jewel he wanted to be set in the ring: a tiny little emerald.

He had set up an appointment with an artisan who said she could make the ring how he wanted it. Now, he just had to hope this would turn out well. Tucking the emerald into his pocket and making sure it would be safe, Bruno headed off into town.

Once he had navigated his way through the familiar streets to the shop, Bruno pushed open the door. A little bell rang above him, and a woman appeared at the counter. "Hello," she said brightly. "How can I help you?"

"Uh, I have an appointment with Rosa?" he said. Due to his normal social anxiety, it came out like a question.

"Ah, you're Bruno! I recognize you now, come on back," she replied.

Once they had both sat down in her office, Rosa officially introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you," she said, "Though I've already heard all about you."

"Hah, yeah, it's hard not to around here, huh?" said Bruno. He really wished Y/n could be there right now to help him with talking, but that would ruin the point.

"So, what're you looking for in that ring of yours?" asked Rosa, getting to business.

"Well.." began Bruno.

Small time skip

A few minutes later, Bruno had finished his description. Then, he took out the emerald he wanted to be the centerpiece for it. "And this is the stone I want," he said.

"Quite a nice one," said Rosa. "I think I can make what you want, give me a week and come back. It'll be ready by then."

After giving Rosa that emerald and thanking her, Bruno left the shop.

He looked at the sky. It was close to sunset, and dinner would be soon. He had best hurry back to the Casita.

Little did Bruno know as he walked away, Rosa was plotting gleefully.

Time skip again

A week had passed, and Bruno was leaving the house to go pick up the ring. He was hoping it would turn out the way it had in his mind, and that Y/n would love it.

He arrived at the shop, and was nervous enough that he couldn't keep himself from tapping his knuckles on the doorframe a few times and muttering "Knock on wood" for good luck.

He went back into the shop, and saw Rosa already behind the counter when the bell rang. "Oh, hello Bruno!" she said cheerfully. "Here to pick up the ring, I suppose?"

"Um, yes," he said, fidgeting a little.

"I've got it all ready for you!" Rosa picked up a small box that was resting on the countertop, bringing it over and opening the top for him to see what was inside.

(A/N: It wouldn't let me add the image for some reason, but it's a heart shape emerald with gold around it in the shape of leaves. You can imagine something else if you want, though!)

"It's perfect," Bruno breathed. Rosa smiled.

After Bruno had paid for the ring, he tucked it into a pocket in his shirt and went on his way back to Casita. The picnic was tomorrow, and he needed to make sure everything was going to be perfect- or as close at he could get it.
