I was muttering pointlessly to myself when I walked into Banner, things come in threes right?
"JARVIS where is she? I need her ASAP!" He just finished when I bumped into him. "Never mind, I found her."
"What did you want me for?" I said trying my best not to sour.
"I think you already know," Bruce smiled. "He's in the lab."
"But—" I started.
"No buts you know that no treatment I can give will help. What was it I always said about cleaning up your own mess?"
"Alright I get it. Just don't lecture me," I laughed holding my hands up in surrender.
I walked towards the lab humming a happy tune. When I got to the glass door I hesitated but Rogers had already looked up and seen me. Well it's now or never. I pushed open the door and knocked on it lightly,
"Can I come in?"
"Sure. Bruce will be back soon, he's gone to get supplies," he spoke warily as I made my way towards him.
"Yeah no. He's not coming back." I couldn't even look him in the eye, the skin his arm was peeling away and blisters were starting to form. Guilt was eating away at me.
"Why?" Rogers asked breaking my gaze away from my handy work to his piercing blue eyes.
"You're looking at the supplies," I motioned to myself. He looked confused, "He knows my powers better than anyone, so he also knows that nothing he gives you will help bring the swelling down or take the burning away. Is there a pot plant in here?" I looked around and found a small one by the window. Using my telekinesis I brought it over and placed it on the lab bench next to where Rogers was sitting.
"What are you goi—"
"Shh. I need to concentrate." I said focusing on Earth; I grew some chives, I cut them with a small flame on the tip of my index finger and using my telekinesis I created a small woven patch big enough to cover my hand. I quickly ran a flame over it, for sanitation.
"I must say you're handling the pain a lot better than Bruce did, he squealed like a piglet." I laughed aloud at the memory after a little uncertainty Rogers's chuckled joined my chiming laughter.
Composing myself again I placed the patch on my left hand a created a layer of ice on it. I dabbed it along his forearm numbing the burn.
"Is there anywhere else?" I asked as I applied it to his shoulder.
"Umhum," he was biting down on his lip restraining himself from making a sound, using his good arm he pointed to his torso. From his collar bone to his hip was a crescent shaped burn not as severe as his arm but I guessed just as painful.
"Oh my word," I gasped, "I'm so sorry." I quickly pulled out of my shame and got to work adding more of my ice to the patch before continuing to his torso.
"It's OK; it was sort of my fault too. I deserved some of this—" Rogers drew a sharp intake of breath and I stopped for a minute and continued when he did, "I spoke to you demeaningly; I didn't mean to, it was force of habit."
He looked down at me as I finished my work. I concentrated on incinerating the patch. He hopped off the bench "I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm sorry and I—"
