Disclaimer: 'Home isn't a place, its a feeling.' - Where Rainbows End, Cecelia Ahern. I recently finished rereading this book after it was recommended to me by my friend about eight years ago now and this quote always sticks in my mind, couldn't help but sneak it into this chapter. ''I don't know what you want me to tell you. Steve's well, Steve. And you know me better than most.'' I danced around her question.

''Which means I also know when you're lying, what's wrong? What are you hiding from me? Don't make me tickle it out of you.'' She threatened mockingly.

''It's nothing.'' I sighed, tying my hair out of the way while I started on my make-up, unable to keep the smile off my face

''Obviously it's something or you wouldn't be glowing and grinning like a Cheshire cat. I mean seriously you're freaking me out. Cut it out!'' She said throwing a pillow at me.

''Ow, damn it! Nora, I blame you for that.'' I said sitting down on the bed looking towards the ceiling blinking quickly.

''Look up, look to the left...'' The next few minutes passed in a blur of commands while Nora corrected my eye make-up. ''There, good as new. Now what were you saying?''

''Oh yes, I was saying how it was none of your concern.'' I deflected the question.

''That doesn't mean I'm not concerned.'' She said looking herself in the eye as she traced her own eye-line. I shot her an unamused look,

''He didn't propose, did he?'' she asked shocked.

''What?! No. Thank goodness!'' I laughed.

''That wouldn't be such a bad thing, would it?'' She asked looking at me while I did my best not to look at her, using putting on lipstick as my excuse.

''I guess not.'' I shrugged.

''I'm still missing something, aren't I?''

''Only your marbles.'' I replied returning the pillow at double speed, but she teleported.

''Hey! No fair!'' I shouted my frustration at empty air before she reappeared lying on the bed.

''So? If he didn't propose what did he do?''

''Nothing, and everything.'' I smiled feeling like the luckiest person in the world.

''If I've lost my marbles, you, my friend, are one sandwich short of a picnic.'' She laughed.

''The jury's out.'' I bit my lip, ''Nora, he makes me feel safe. You know how people say home isn't a place it's a feeling?'' She nodded, ''It's how I feel when I'm with Steve, it can be intoxicating but it's home. He's home.'' On that note of clarity we both continued to get ready.

''Are you sure this covers everything? Personally I think it's a bit short.'' I asked wary, as I checked the dress in the mirror, for the hundredth time.

''If you think it's too short, in fact it's still too long,'' she mocked. Just then someone knocked on the door. ''Come in, we're both ready to go.'' Steve pushed the door open fully,

''Sorry to crash your girl talk, I forgot my cufflinks.'' He said, looking down.

''It's alright, I'll get them for you. Just give me a minute to sort my lipstick.'' I said and painted on the final layer of red.
