"Hmm?" I jumped out of my thoughts guiltily having found myself watching Steve go and admiring his erm... physic?

"Were you? Nah you weren't, were you?" Tony asked.

"No I wasn't."

"If you say so," he muttered unconvinced. "Fancy some flight training while he's gone?" He wiggled his eyebrows and opened the doors to the balcony. I stepped out while Tony went for his suit. I summoned my dress minus the armour and the dagger. I stretched my wings,

"Whoa, watch out." Tony said ducking under a wing before jumping off the balcony and hovering there. "Let's go," with that he flew off.

I waited a moment admiring the city while I fixed my mask in place.

"What are you waiting for?"

I spun around finding myself face to face with Steve.

"You don't mind me skipping out on you?" I asked surprised.

"No, just come back in one piece OK?" He was genuinely concerned.

"I always make a point of that, Cap." I saluted him and jumped, feeling the wind in my feathers as I followed after my brother.

Feeling the wind through my hair and feathers is definitely one of my favourite feelings I thought to myself as I caught up with Tony. We made a few laps around the city before landing on the Statue of Liberty's crown. We sat down and took in the view across the bay.

"So you never did answer my question; how's training?" Tony asked.

"It's OK, I finally picked my weapon of choice a Beretta 92FS." He nodded,

"Good choice you can put a bullet straight into the chamber if mag jams." He stated.

"Yep," I said with my usual Stark style, "but that's not why you asked me out here, is it?" I questioned him my wings twitching behind me.

"No, it's not," he sighed.

"So?" I urged him to continue. He flipped his mask up, revealing his worried expression.

"Despite being loyal to a fault Steve it's always honest, his job with SHIELD makes that extremely difficult." He paused hoping I'd understood.

"Just be careful that his um... fondness for you isn't a SHIELD trick to keep a closer eye on you once they discovered your telepathy didn't work on him." He clarified.

"A fact I revealed to them myself when I first met him. Argh!" I kicked myself internally.

"And with Coulson having witnessed your healing powers, you and your DNA are very valuable to them. Your other powers however make you a threat to them; in short you're on their radar for certain. I'm sorry." Tony said while looking out to the bay.

"Look at it this way if it wasn't for SHIELD we might never had met," I smiled.

"I just want to protect you, so watch yourself around Steve. Though I doubt that it is a trick; he's a terrible liar but just in case," he looked at me pleadingly.

"I'll be careful but thanks for the heads up."

We spent a few minutes in a thoughtful silence until he spoke up again to tease me,

"Hadn't you better get back to lover boy?" With the uttering of those words the seriousness evaporated from his voice and the air around us.

"He's not my lover boy, but I had better get back." I replied suddenly anxious to return home, sliding of the Statue into mid-air. I created a small thermo-column below me to save my energy for the flight back.
