Winter break had arrived meaning that we had two whole weeks to rest and forget about school. Or that's what I thought.
Ever since I made Jean text Mikasa, he's been bothering all the time, asking for advice or things like that.
He wouldn't stop texting and calling me on the worst times. One time he called me at eight in the morning to ask me about something to give to her on Christmas.
And the worst part of this is that he still barely texted her. He was such a pussy, it annoyed me so much.
Today he only texted me after lunch but once the notification appeared, I had to stop for a second to breathe and calm down.
Jean: hey are you
free saturday???
Jean: i want to
hangout with Mikasa
but for that i need your help
(Y/n): i can't on saturday

Jean: that early!?!?😨
(Y/n): omg you used

(Y/n): but yeah I have
to do other things after
Jean: okay...
Jean: well 8am at
your house got it
Saturday came and Jean had arrived five minutes early. He looked exhausted and almost fell asleep at the door.
We walked to the cemetery, which wasn't that far from my house. We bought a bouquet on the way and arrived at my dad's grave.
We stood in silence for a while, paying our respects to him.
"I didn't know that he had passed." Jean spoke. "I mean, I've never tried to ask because I didn't want to bother you and your mom."
"That's understandable." I told him. "He got in a car accident when I was still a baby so I can't really remember him but my mom sometimes talks about him. I would love to meet him."
"He must have been a great person." Jean said.
"He was." After a few more minutes of silence, we decided to leave.
"So, what are the other things you have to do?" Jean asked.
"Thank you for reminding me, I have a request from my mom." I said, confusing him. "What if you came to help me and my mom with her restaurant?"
"That's what you have to do today?"
"Yes, but we need more help. So, what do you think? You'll receive money..." I insisted.
"Hm...fine, I'll help. My mom would've asked me to do it anyway." He said.
"Great! Work starts in an hour!" I smiled.
"Seriously?!" He asked as I grabbed my phone to call my mom and tell her about the news.
"Yup." My mom picked up. "Hi, mom! I got us a new waiter! Jean is going to help us. Okay... Okay... Bye!" I hung up. "You're hired, Jean boy."
"You won't tell anyone that we're working in the same restaurant, right?"
"Oh, no. I don't want to be made fun of." I explained.
We both walked to my mom's restaurant. When we arrived, my mom was already waiting for us and gave us our uniforms.
Hitch, one of the waitresses there, helped both of us and told us what to do. This was my second time doing this so I was already used to it but Jean did a few mistakes in the beginning.
Sometimes, I had to help him with the costumers' orders because he would get some things wrong.
The first days went terrible for Jean but he started getting used to it and now he barely made any mistakes.
One day, two new costumers arrived and Hitch asked me to attend them. They had their faces focused on the menu so I could quite see who they were but I could tell that they were around my age.
"Good afternoon, I'm here to take your orders." I said with a smile.
"(Y/n)?" Connie took the menu away from his face and looked shocked at me. The other person with him was Sasha.
"Connie?! Sasha?!" I gasped.
"You work here? Awesome! I love this place already." Sasha exclaimed and I nervously laughed.
It's not the fact that they found out I worked there that scared me. I just didn't want them to know that Jean worked with me.
They ordered the food and I went to the kitchen. Lucky for me, Jean was already there but then he left quickly to attend another table.
"We're screwed. They're going to find out and then tell everyone." I sighed as I left to assist other costumers.
Me and Jean got called to give the food to Connie's table and at that moment, I knew that our secret was gone.
"Jean. Connie and Sasha are here." I whispered to him.
"Uh?! How?! What?!"
They saw Jean walking next to me and started laughing, probably at Jean.
"You work together?!" Connie laughed.
"You're not gonna tell the others, right?" Jean tried to control himself to not threaten them.
"No..." Me and Jean raised our eyebrows. "...they're on their way."
"Fuck." I sighed while Jean groaned.
"Relax. We're not going to make fun of you." Sasha assured, probably lying.
"Right... We'll, we have more costumers than just you guys so we gotta go." I said as both of us left.
Not even five minutes later, our whole friend group arrived, even Annie came, and went to a big table. This time, me and Marlo, another waiter, went to take their orders.
"Woah, Connie was right!" Eren spoke.
"Do you know them?" Marlo asked.
"Yeah, they're my friends." I explained. "I can stay with them, you can go take care of other people."
"Your uniform looks good on you." Eren complimented and I thanked him.
"So many things to choose..." Armin said while looking at the menu.
After everyone ordered, I went to the kitchen and gave the orders to my mom. Then, when the food was done, Jean and Marlo had to help me with it.
"Nice uniform, Kirstein." Ymir said.
"Shut up." Jean grunted while I deadpanned.
The rest of the day was spent by me and Jean always going to their table to serve whatever Connie and Sasha would order.
They all stayed in the restaurant for so long that even my mom went to say hi to them. They complimented her food and that made her so happy that I didn't mind anymore about them making fun of us.
They started leaving except for Eren, Mikasa, Armin and Marco, who were so happy to see me and Jean working together that they'd only leave when our shift was over.
We were finally done with work and went to sit next to the others. When we sat down, our bodies lost their energy and it was like we were both sleeping with our eyes open.
"Umm...are you okay?" Armin asked.
"I'm exhausted." I groaned.
"I'm never going to serve Connie and Sasha anymore." Jean said.
My mom came to our table to give us our checks. Then, she told us that once school starts, which was in a week, we wouldn't need to work anymore.
"You're mom is really nice, (Y/n)." Eren spoke when she left.
"Unlike her daughter." Jean murmured. I stomp on his shoe with a smile on my face, making him almost yell in pain.
"Thanks, Eren." I smiled.
