Just like I had promised, once school started, I did in fact focused on my studies.

We were now seniors and our schedules changed, as they do every year, but after talking about them with my friends, I realized that I didn't have a single class with any of them.

I was kinda bummed out when I found out but then I remembered that I could still hang out with them at lunch time, right?

Wrong.

Barely any of them had lunch at the same time as me. When it was their time to eat, I only had fifteen minutes left before class so I could barely hang out with them.

Sometimes I would find someone in the halls but it was still not enough time. We were all really upset about it but there was nothing we could do, I had already asked to change my schedule but they didn't let me.

Oh, right, I almost forgot. There was actually someone I knew that had English classes with me. Floch.

Out of everyone, I just had to be with that motherfucker. The first time he noticed that we were in the same class, he sat next to me unfortunately and our teacher is a bitch so she didn't let me change seats. I was stuck with Floch for the rest of the year.

"Hey, nice to see you again!" He spoke when he sat next to me for the first time. "You're looking good."

"What happened to your hair?" I asked, looking disgustingly at him.

"Oh, that. I decided to change it." He winked at me. "Do you like it?"

"I can't call you mama bird anymore." I said.

"Thank God, that annoyed me so much."

"That was the purpose." I mumbled.

"So, are you dating someone or you're free?" He bit his lip.

"Teacher, may I change seats please?" I begged.

"No." The teacher said.

"Too bad." Floch shrugged. "I guess you're stuck with me for the rest of the year."

"No!" I cried.

Anyway, since I was alone at lunch, I decided to study while I eat. Last year, my grades really went down and I barely passed so I was determined to have good grades this year.

My daily routine were what my friends would call boring. I'd wake up, go to school, go home, study, eat, sleep, repeat.

I had to admit, it was boring but I was scared of getting those grades again. On top of that, because of that paranoia, I would still have not enough time to be with the gang.

One day, while I was studying maths, I had a visitor that I missed a lot.

"Hey, angel." I heard his voice coming from the door and ran to him, embracing him.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"We miss you so much, it's been so long since we last saw for more that fifteen minutes." He said.

"I'm sorry, I'm just so scared to get bad grades again." I explained, looking at him. When he saw my face, he started to look worried.

"You have huge eye bags." He pointed out. "When was the last time you've slept?"

"Yesterday, obviously." I snorted.

"How many hours?" He asked.

"...five." I murmured. "Doesn't matter, I have to keep studying, you can sit on the bed or something."

I went back to my desk while he sat on my bed with his guitar on his side. He would always take it everywhere he went now, I'm not complaining, though.

He grabbed the Nobara plushie and started squeezing it and poking it. Then, he let it fall on the bed and sighed.

"You're boring." He groaned.

"I'm sorry if I don't want to have terrible grades like last year." I told him.

"You need to rest. Lay down." He demanded.

"I don't need to sleep Jean." I said.

"Yes, you do."

He pulled my arm, trying to take me out of my desk but since I was being stubborn, he lifted me up and threw me to my bed.

I was shocked by the fact that he was strong enough to pick me up. He grabbed his guitar and started playing a melody while I glared at him.

"Fine. You give me no choice." He sighed.

Jean started playing a melody that (Y/n) knew very well. She widened her eyes, shocked.

"How do you know that song?" She asked.

"I guess you could say I'm a big Ricky Montgomery fan." He answered. "Now let me play."

This was the first time (Y/n) listened to Jean sing. His voice was deep but soft and he sang with passion.

"Take me up tight, strung up like a kite," He started. The song was 'Out like a light', one of both (Y/n) and Jean's favorite. "Dumb, wicked, and white, love me in spite."

(Y/n) watched in awe, noticing how sweet and peaceful he looked while singing. It was rare to see him like that and (Y/n) was enjoying every second.

"If I betray our lonely nights spent out like a light, with no kiss goodnight, we ever fight when I'm away?"

She slowly laid down as she listened to him, her eyes getting heavy. She quickly fell asleep and Jean smiled while he sang.

"Did your mother always seem to hate me? I'm sicker every day and now I'm terrified of talking to my friends only to stay still..."

After this verse, Jean looked at the person sleeping next to him, making him grin like an idiot.

"Dreaming of our first born and your hair covered in popcorn, you never leave, you never leave, you never leave..."

He sang that part while gazing at (Y/n), as if the words that he was singing were meant for her.

Once he was done with the song, he put a blanket on top of (Y/n) and the Nobara plushie in her arms, leaving the room after.
