Chapter 22

Second semester arrived and I didn't want to go back to school. Why? One word. Floch.

He was the most annoying person I've ever met and he'd never stop flirting with me even when I told him to stop multiple times. I just couldn't wait to leave that class.

Just like Armin predicted, I stopped focusing on my studies too much since I was loosing sleep and getting more stressed but it still didn't stop me from paying attention to class.

One English class, Floch was more annoying than ever, asking me if I'd go to Reiner's new party.

"Of course I'm going, he's my friend." I answered.

"Oh, cool." He smiled. "We can go together then."

"Sorry, I'm already going with someone." I lied.

"Who?" He asked as if he knew I was lying.

"Uh... Jean." I told him.

"Makes sense." He rolled his eyes. "But that doesn't stop you from talking to me so, don't be afraid to spend the night with me." He winked at me.

"No."

While he bothered me, I received a notification from Reiner. He barely texted me so I found it kind of weird.

Reiner: hey bro
Reiner: you coming
tonight?

(Y/n): ofc
(Y/n): why

Reiner: need a ride?
Reiner: bert can
take you there

(Y/n): oh sure ig

Reiner: cool see
ya there 💪

"Weird." I whispered.

Bertholdt came to pick me up later and we spent the whole ride talking about school and boring stuff like that.

The thing is that ever since the others told me that Bertholdt liked me, I've been kinda awkward around him but I tried my best to hide it even though I wasn't really sure if he liked me or not.

When we arrived, I ran out if the car politely and looked for Jean. I saw him talking to Jean while they played pool. I was about to interrupt their conversation until I heard what they were talking about.

"How are things with Mikasa?" Reiner asked.

"What does she have to do with anything?" Jean said.

"I thought you found her attractive."

"I-I do. I mean, who doesn't?" Jean stuttered and I frowned. "But she's dating Eren."

"Yeah, but you could've dated her, you know?" Reiner continued.

"Can we stop talking about her, please?" Jean asked.

"Hey, boys." I interrupted them so that I could stop hearing about that subject.

"Hey, angel." Jean smiled and hugged me.

"Sup, (Y/n)." Reiner smirked.

Jean told Reiner that he was going out for a while and took my hand, making me follow him. We went to Reiner's backyard where it was completely empty.

"I'm glad you came." Jean spoke.

"I gave up on constantly studying and decided to have fun for once." I told him.
