They both looked at me in different ways. The tall one, Sam, looks at me with concern laced into his face. His presents was...warming. Dean on the other hand looked at me like I had just eaten the last of his food rations for the year.
"What the hell kid?" He grumbles.
"What were you doing kiddo?" Sam says taking a step towards me. I take one back, eyeing his gun. He seem to notice my uneasiness as he looked at Dean's gun and his own. He put it away, nudging for his partner to do the same.
"What's your name?" He asks gently.
"Bradlii."
"Well 'Bradlii' what the hell were you doing?" Dean presses.
"I-I don't know..." I half lied. I technically knew, but not really. I knew I was chasing him, not sure why I was chasing him though. "I was after that...thing I guess."
"Thing?" They both said looking at me then each other.
"Your FBI or something right? Please you need to catch him- he's a monster!" I panic.
"Wait did you witness something?" Sam asks hopeful. They both looked intrigued.
I look at them nervously.
"Maybe..."
"Look kid you either saw something or you didn't-"
"Dean-"
"Yes I did, okay! But your not going to believe me!"
They both exchange looks again.
"Trust me, we're...open minded." Freckles says.
"Why don't you tell us what you saw over some food yeah? You look hungry." Sam says.
As if on cue my stomach growls. I look up at them bitting my lip.
"Okay, yeah."
~
I couldn't help but moan a little when I took another bite of my burger.
So damn good.
I look up to them staring at me.
"When's the last time you ate?" Sam asks with puppy dog eyes.
I shrug.
"You want to know what I saw or not?"
Dean nods slurping on his coke.
"Okay but first promise me you won't send me to the crazy-house after I tell you- "
"Trust us kid...you don't need to worry about that." Dean reassures and I oddly believed him.
So I tell them, I tell them everything. Although I left out the part on way I was in that alley in the first place. I still was cautious about what I told them, I mean if they were FBI then they would for sure send me back home, and there was no way in hell I was going back there, not without kicking and screaming.
"Different type of werewolf ya think?" I hear one of them whisper in hush tone to the other.
"No, heart was still there."
My face scrunches with the up most confusion.
"Sorry, w-werewolf?" I choke out. They both look at me like they were surprised I over heard them. "Who are you guys? Like really?"
"FBI-"
"No bullshit. You believed what I said way too easily and you both are really calm about this. So I'm not buying the whole FBI crap, sorry."
Dean looks at me sort of amused. They both exchange looks before Dean answers.
"It's kind of our job...to hunt things like you saw down."
"So I wasn't imagining it? That thing...that thing is real?"
They nod.
"Yeah whatever that 'thing' was..."
"Wait you guessed werewolf...they exist to? Like freaking teen wolf is real?"
"Sorta yeah..." Sam sighs.
"Well what the hell! What other things are out there?" I panic a bit too loudly.
"Keep your voice down shortstop," Dean hisses.
"All monsters...they're real, aren't they?" I say slowly and quietly, locking eyes with the both of them.
"Yes." Sam says with no hint of humor in his voice.
My chest heaves heavily for a couple minutes as I gather my thoughts.
"Alright, how do we catch him?" I say as calmly as I can.
They look at me taken off guard.
"Your just on board with this whole thing?" Dean asks in disbelief.
"Well not exactly but I saw it for my own eyes. Besides...humans are basically monsters anyway...so what's really the difference."
Again, they both exchange worried looks.
"Where are your parents Bradlii?" Sam asks first.
Dammit.
"Dead." I say on impulse. "Car accident."
"And what? You've been on the run ever since? How old are you anyway?" Dean interjects.
"Nineteen." I lie again. "And yes! They died when I was sixteen. Foster homes suck, figure I could make it better on my own."
"What happened there?" He asks not seeming to buy what I'm saying. He jesters to my bandaged up hands that were still wrapped around my burger. I hadn't noticed they started bleeding again, and right through the toilet paper.
"Nothing." I mumble hiding them.
"Look, we won't send you back anywhere but at least let us help you bandage those up properly and I don't know, give you money or something." Sam says.
I look at him carefully.
"I don't need your charity."
"If I were you I'd take our offer chick," Dean says. "You look like you could use it."
His voice was stern but not mean. I naw my bottom lip debating my options. Stay on the streets or have some shelter for a while with two strangers....
"Can I get you some dessert hun?" The waitress asks, pulling me out of thought. "Our specials are double fudge cake or Apple pie."
"Pie." Dean and I say in unison.
Sam exchanges looks at the both of us as the waitress giggles.
"Well aren't you two just two peas in a pod."
Dean and I look at each other now with scrunched faces.
"Well I guess it's decided then. I'll go with you. But only because we're 'two peas in a pod'." I tease sarcastically.
"Hope not, For your sake Brandy-"
"Bradlii." I correct.
"Yeah whatever, what kind of name is that anyway? 'Bradlii'?"
"Keep talking Deano." I say taking my plate of pie and walking by the diner door, waiting for them.
"Got to admit, she sure does remind me of someone..." I hear Sam say. Dean rolls his eyes looking at me.
"Great. This should be fun."
