"Nice car." I say in awe as I snuggle into the backseat.
Dean smirks proudly.
"Yeah, my baby is pretty amazing."
"Yeah yeah, let's just go." Sam says rolling his eyes adjusting himself in the front seat. Dean sticks the key in the ignition, making the car roar to life. And away we go.
"So...how do you two know each other exactly?" I say after a moment.
"We're brothers." Sam answers.
"Really? You two seem...different from each other."
Dean shifts a bit, looking at me through the review mirror.
"Yeah well, what about you? Any siblings?"
"No." I say shifting a little now as well. It was better that way though. I had trouble keeping myself safe let alone a brother or sister to look after. Although I did always think it might be cool to have an older brother. I'd imagine when I was little he would protect me from my father and keep me safe from any harm. But I stopped dreaming about that eventually. I realized that I was the only one who was going to take care of me. No one else.
My eyelids began to become very heavy suddenly. I didn't want to fall asleep though. What if they were taking me somewhere to kill me or something? No, I had to stay awake. Dean seems to notice though as he glances up into the review mirror.
"Almost there kiddo."
Sam looks back at me, scrunching his eyebrows together.
"How long has it been since you've slept?" He asks concerned. "And I mean like a proper night sleep,"
I shrug, biting my lip.
He's about to say something more but Dean interjects.
"We're here."
~
Dean slides the card key into the door to there crappy motel room, swiftly walking in along with Sam. I stay behind though. I felt uneasy suddenly. Sam and Dean seem to notice as they look behind them.
"What? What's wrong?" Dean asks.
I don't answer. I bite my bottom lip harshly and play with my fingers.
"Kid?" Dean presses. He was totally clueless. Sam on the other hand was not. He gives me a sympathetic look.
"You don't have to be scared off us or any- "
"I'm not scared," I interrupt. "I just don't trust you. Either of you. You could be creeps or something."
Dean rolls his eyes.
"Then why did you get into the car with us in the first place?"
I shrug.
"We're not that bad Brody-"
"Bradlii." Sam and I correct him in unison.
"Right." He says, again rolling his eyes.
"Look if it's that hard for you to remember, just call me Grey." I sigh finally walking through the doorframe.
"Grey?"
"Yeah. It's my last name."
A little voice in my head scolded me for giving that away but I tried not to let it get to me. I try to tell myself that it didn't matter, I wasn't sticking around here anyway.
"I'm gonna get something to clean your hands out." Sam says going into the bathroom.
"What did you do anyway?" Dean asks. My face goes pale.
