If you asked, many people would claim that this described M/n L/n. He was optimistic but aware of his surroundings. People said he was precious, and well-kept. He was nice and smart and faced life head on, "everything everyone wanted in a person," they'd say. M/n became accustomed to praise, growing up thinking he had to do everything right. He eventually believed that nothing more could excite him, until he learned of soulmate bonds. He anxiously waited for the day his soulmate bond would manifest, the day he could meet them, hold them and love them. You can imagine how fast his heart raced when he first entered his dream world, only to find that his soulmate is no where to be found.. until last night.
M/n groaned, his head in his hands as he sat at his normal lunch table with his cousin Akaashi. "Your soulmate?" He asked, taking another bite of his lunch without looking up. "How'd you know?" M/n asked, peeking through his fingers. Akaashi took another bite out of his lunch, shrugging and looking up at him, leaning his head on his free hand, his elbow on the table. "What happened? You havent done this in a while." "I met them last night" You replied, moving your hands and letting your head drop down onto the table with a light 'thunk'.
Akaashi's eyes widened a fraction, setting his eating utensil down. "Seriously?" You just gave a nod in return. "Thats surprising.." He started, before Bokuto, a friend from the volleyball team he was on came to sit beside you guys. "Watcha' talking about?" He asked with a grin. You just groaned, before looking at him. "Why are you so nosy?" He made an indescribable noise, furrowing his eyebrows and pointing a finger at you. "I'm not nosy! I just want to know what my favorite underclassmen are talking about!" He boomed, slightly boasting about being your upperclassman. You just rolled your eyes. "Uh-huh." You said dully, Akaashi piping up and reminding him that you guys were barely even a year under him.
While Bokuto whined about something, you diverted your eyes down to the table slowly, your soulmates face coming into mind, your face flushing slightly. Sure, you didnt have low expectations for them, but he was just on another level. Although his hair was black, it had a shine to it, and the way his golden eyes contrasted but seemed to fit perfectly with it was beautiful to you. HE was beautiful to you, and you couldnt help but forget everything you were mad at him for. While you were busy daydreaming about holding hands with the black haired beauty you didnt know the name of, someone snapped their fingers in front of your face, making your eyes focus on them.
"You good?" Bokuto asked, raising an eyebrow. You just hummed, looking to the side. "He's thinking about his soulmate." Akaashi said, with food in his mouth. You cringed, telling him to close his mouth while he just rolled his eyes. Bokuto made a sound of realization before smiling. "i've been meaning to ask, your soulmate bond is dreams right?" He didnt wait for you to respond before continuing. "Doesnt that mean you and your soulmate have the same schedule? They would have to be in japan somewhere!" You and Akaashi just looked at him dumbfounded, of course Bokuto was smart enough in academics but he was a little dumb at the same time, so it was a little surprising that he figured it out before you. You hadn't even thought about it. Your eyes widened, standing up abruptly and grabbing both of bokutos hands, grinning. "You're a genius!" You yelled, drawing some attention to your table, before running out of the lunchroom.
They stared after you, mouths open. "Does he know we still have school? Where is he going."
You ended up stopping right before you reached the school doors, deflating and trudging to your next class. It would have to wait until tonight.
.....
If you're confused, they are in their first years right now, and bokuto is in his second and not yet captain of the volleyball team.
