Yugen; The profound and mysterious feeling of beauty towards the universe.

M/n had always thought the universe was beautiful, especially when he learned about soulmates. Although a select few might not agree, he thought that having and unconditionally loving one person chosen just for you was in a sense, beautiful. And that's exactly why he is now running through the rain without an umbrella, trying desperately to get to the comfort of his home, to one; get out of the rain but also so that he could quickly fall asleep and talk with his soulmate once again.

As he arrived at his house, he quickly, but very silently, threw the door open, hoping he wouldn't bring attention to the fact that he was dripping water throughout the house. He rushed up the stairs, stopping just before his bedroom door, turning around quickly and went into the bathroom, taking a hot shower.

As he stepped out of the shower, drying his body and wrapping a towel around his lower half, he sighed in content, his jumbled mind relaxing. He huffed at himself, rushing as if his soulmate would be asleep at this time. It was only 4:00 in the afternoon for heavens sake. He walked into his room, his little sister that was walking up the stairs yelling at him to put some pants on. You closed and locked the door, not forgetting to flick your sister off, hearing her offended calls. You got dressed in some sweatpants and a t-shirt, your face going devoid of emotion when you realized you left your school bag that harbored your phone at school in your haste.

You groaned again, scratching your head before looking over on your desk at the textbooks you forgot to take to school, giving them a dirty look, before groaning once again and rolling your eyes at how cringy you were being.

You turned around and got comfy in your bed, your furrowed eyebrows going back to normal as you relaxed in your haven of pillows and blankets. Without the entertainment of your phone and considering your t.v remotes batteries were dead, you could only resort to closing your eyes and attempting to fall asleep.

And it seems you were successful in doing this, considering you woke up, a pressure on your chest and arms. As you opened your eyes, you found a rabbit sleeping on your stomach, a deers head on your chest, his body on your arm. You gaped at the animals, moving your free arm, propping your body up the slightest bit. The deer brought its head up at your movement, now staring you in the eyes as you were both frozen. The deer slowly got up without breaking eye contact, backing up and slowly dissapearing into the brush. You just stared wide eyed, before looking down to find the rabbit on your stomach gone. You were officially weirded out.

You slowly got up, shaking the grass off of your back, walking on the path you did before. Heading to the larger clearing, you observed your surroundings with adoration. You didn't feel the pull of your soulmate, which was a little weird because you thought you only returned to the dream world when the other was there. You walked a little more, finding your soulmate, hopefully asleep on the floor. Walking faster, you hoped the reason you couldnt feel him wasnt because he was dead. Once you reached him, you quickly kneeled, placing a hand on his chest, sighing in relief after feeling it rise under your hand.

You frowned, directing your gaze towards his face. He really was beautiful, and he looked fairly frail, you wondered how he was able to run from you for so long in this dream space. Was it really that big, anyways? You chewed on the inside of your cheek, planting your butt on the ground before crossing your legs and laying back. It was a little uncomfortable, but you didn't mind. The pull came back, and you quickly sat up, resting your hands on your ankles and leaning over his face. He turned his face towards the sky, blinking and squinting a few times before your face came into view. His eyes widened like a scared cats, and he jumped up, almost knocking heads with you if you hadn't moved.

"Jeez!" You said, holding your head in caution, eyeing him warily. He stared at you, his form slowly relaxing as he recognized you and the place. "We're... here?" He asked. You looked at him weirdly, putting your hands behind you and propping yourself up, before brushing it off. "What's your name?" You asked him.

You watched as he pushed himself away from you subtly, pulling his knees up to your chest.
"Kenma.." He muttered lazily, hiding half of his face in his knees.

"Kenma.. Kenma." You whispered his name, smiling and licking your dry lips. "It's a pretty name.. it really suits you."

He just nodded, avoiding your stare as he locked his fingers together around his knees. You cleared your throat in the awkward silence, running your sweaty hands up and down your legs. "Do you mind if I uh.. call you by your first name?" Oh you hoped to god he would say yes. It would mean he accepted you, would mean the reason he came to you was because he was finally open to the idea of loving you.

You saw him contemplating, running the idea through his mind before he gave you clearance with a small nod of his head. You were over the moon!

"Then you can call me m/n.. you know I'm really glad you told me I could call you that.. I-.." As you ranted on about your nervousness, Kenma found himself spacing out.

"M/n.." He understood why you did it too as he found himself whispering your name softly, bringing his hand up to touch his lips. He liked your name. And for the first time, he thought he might like the universe too.
