Allie had finally decided to make her way home, once the earthquake stopped her and Will had thought it best to check on their parents. As she was walking up her street alone she noticed her neighbour's door wide open so thought it was best to check it out. The door was a cool shade of eggshell blue with an old looking brass knocker. An odd combination.

Miles had walked into her room, the door, swinging closed behind him, he supposed due to structural change caused by the earthquake.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Emmy asked taking a seat on her blow up bed that sat in the centre of the room.

"Where are all your memories?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Your memories, like tokens and photos, I know you said your stuff was arriving tomorrow but I expected to atleast see something you brought in your carry on."

"I don't know, I guess I'm just not that sentimental about things."

She stopped herself for a second before starting to rummage in a bag by the window.
"Do you like music?"

"Sure." She took that as her cue to place down on the floor an old tooling tape player. Music started playing. Jazz. The melody was smooth and she started to dance along to it, swinging her hips as Miles just stood there awkwardly.

"I should probably get home."

"Oh, okay," Emmy was filled with disappointment, wondering what she had done wrong.

Miles began to scurry to the door before a thought crossed his mind.
"Emmy, don't go out the house tonight."

Before she had the chance to ask what the brunette boy meant, he had disappeared from her room and Allie was standing in his place with a stunned look on her face.

"Wait so Miles walked you home?" Allie asked with an expression of confusion.

"Yeah, he said you would be a while and walked off with my bag. I'm glad I wasn't alone when I earthquake struck though." She took a deep breathe, plopping herself down on the inflatable mattress. Allie sat down across from her, cross legged on the  wooden floor.

"Miles always does have a way of knowing what's best. In his own way that is."

"Anyway, do you want to have dinner tonight? That is assuming the oven is working."

Allie opened her mouth to reply.
"Beep" her phone sounded breaking off what she was about to say. The blonde looked down, a small smile filling her face as she looked at the device.

"I've got to go." In a flurry of hair and throwing the cushion she had been leaning upon onto the bed, she ran out the door.

"Allie?" Emmy yelled after her. Silence. She took a breath and sat back down, leaning back on the bed. She must have been as quiet as a door mouse and yet her "Fine, just leave me too." Seemed to echo across the carnage of her surroundings.
