"Water and a bandage." Fatty mumbled as he tried to pull out the firs aid kid from Wu Xi's backpack. It wasn't that easily reached after they hadn't needed it the past days. Wu Xi only noted in the back of his mind that he should pay more attention to that.
But he still kept staring at his hand Zhangs hands, slightly afraid that Zhang would pull away before he could at least clean and bandage the wound.
No answer didn't necessarily mean that he would actually allow it. And thinking about it Wu Xi noticed, that he had never seen anyone take care of Zhang. Not only that, the first time he tried he actually had gotten the cold shoulder.
"Don't you move." Wu Xi said, knowing that he wouldn't be able to do anything if Zhang were to pull away. Only then he slowly completely let go of his hand.
He waited a few seconds, watching if Zhang would pull away. He didn't, and a weight Wu Xi didn't even knew he had carried suddenly vanished from his shoulders.
Then he looked at his own hands. They were red and sticky with blood.
Before he could take care of Zhangs wound he should also clean his own hands, otherwise the bandage would also be bloody, and if any dirt gets into Zhangs wound, - he didn't even want to think about it.
"It's unnecessary." He heard, Zhang mumble, with a strange tone. It made Wu Xi look up at him.
Only to see his head turned away from him, probably staring at the near by roots. But he didn't pull away, he still had his hand where Wu Xi could bandage it.
Wu Xi wondered – had he ever heard this tone of his voice before? He didn't remember ever hearing something like it. But judging by the unmoving hand, it probably wasn't something bad.
If the situation was anytime else, he probably would have been happy to find something new about him.
"It's not." Wu Xi said, his voice much gentler than before. "It's for your wellbeing, even your wound can get infected, you must take care of yourself." Even though he still felt like scolding him for his behaviour, he just let it go like this. Who knows, if he over did it Zhang might just pull away from him again. And that - Wu Xi couldn't allow it.
"Here – First aid kit and water." Fatty apparently had finally gotten the things Wu Xi had asked for, out of the backpack.
"Wait, I'll open it for you. – Wash your hands first."
He had also noticed that Wu Xi's hands were bloody. So, he opened the water bottle for him and poured some water over his hands. Allowing Wu Xi to clean them as much as possible, before taking care of Zhang.
After that Fatty put both items into Wu Xi's hands.
"You better take good care of him." He told him. "You're better in nursing than me anyway. And the camp is in chaos, as entertaining, as watching them running around like headless chickens is – they need someone to get back some order and keep more people from getting stung – you said vinegar would help, no? I'm off them."
Onlyafter he had put some distance between him and Wu Xi Fatty grumbled: "I neverthought I would ever volunteer to do this. – You better be grateful."
