"Let's hope for the best." Wu Xi said.

There wasn't much to do for him here anymore – has never really been anything – but at least now he had seen the place with his own eyes. And the glances of those mercenaries really made him want to leave – instead of getting a closer look himself.

He could even hear them mumble something when they were close enough to each other. But he couldn't understand what they where saying, he only instinctively understood that it wasn't anything good.

Wu Xi really felt like leaving and avoiding those people as much as possible, but he didn't want to leave Zhangs side. It wasn't only a choice of safety, of course he completely trusted that nothing bad could happen to him as long as he stayed together with his friend, but more importantly he had already decided to stay by his side until the mysterious mood vanished and he felt better again.

So, he would leave the decision to stay or to go to Zhang – what ever he wanted to do, Wu Xi would stay by his side.

But with out knowing, what Zhang wanted to do – Wu Xi felt a bit lost in the situation. He didn't really know what he wanted. Sure, he agreed on coming here together but – his reason for doing so, what he actually wanted here – he didn't really know that.

Knowing, that Zhang wouldn't just tell him out of know where, he turned to him, looking for guidance on what he should do now.

While turning, Wu Xi also stepped a bit sideways and back, turning his back on his uncle instead of the still working mercenaries.

He could see Zhang standing about where he had made place for him earlier, but still different from what he had expected. He had stepped out of the shadowy area he normally preferred - and was now fully standing in a fleck of light, closer to Wu Xi then he had expected him to be.

If it wasn't only his imagination, then Zhang was staring back at the mercenaries – and quite unfriendly at that. It was a 'Come any closer and I will behead you' kind of stare.

Wu Xi could feel an icy shiver run down his back, and the only reason his legs could still carry his weight was because that glare wasn't pointed towards him.

He had never seen Zhang look at anyone with such cold and murderous eyes. So much so, that he was still questioning if his eyes were playing tricks on him. Had he drunken enough water, was he hallucinating? How could those warm and gentle eyes turn this cold?

As soon as Zhang looked at Wu Xi – who had become a bit pale – the glare had completely vanished.

Leaving Wu Xi completely stunned but still on his feet – had he just imagined it, or could Zhang really make a face like that?

He had seemed so cold and distant for a second – like he wouldn't even blink while killing everyone who foolishly decided to get any closer to him – like he would be completely untouched even by that and just disappear after wards.

And he knew that if Zhang would ever look at him like this he would crumble and cry.

It must be his imagination that Zhang could look like that right? They were friends he wouldn't just be this – cold, he couldn't be right?

"Let's go back." Zhang said to his pale friend who was still staring at him blankly.

"Wu Xi?" he called out to him a bit gentler, waiting for a reaction.

After his vision cleared up a bit, and an unintelligent "hmm?" leaving his mouth, he could properly hear the following.

"Let's leave."
