"not your fault" that was Qiling talking "it makes your talkative".
Yes, lower inhibitions about stuff like that and everything. Wu Xie did know that, but it only made things even harder considering that he already had his own problems with the whole staying silent thing.
"Great", Fatty said doing an excessive shrug. "So, I'm stuck with a talking mute and a chatterbox that might just talk even more. Let's go on with it – pack up some sweet treasure and leave."
He turned away made a few steps before he stopped again. "Am I even walking in the right direction?"
"I don't know." Wu Xie answered without thinking. While he had looked through the most part of this labyrinth, he didn't know which exit of this tunnel would lead to the outside-hallway and with to the inside-hallway.
Qiling said he wasn't sure either. Which truly was a surprise to Wu Xie, normally Qiling always seemed know where the right path was. "It's not a tomb – there is not enough to make an assumption."
Fatty sighed. "So, we're just going where ever until we find something. Fine. Pack up boys, we're going."
"Wait" to voices said at the exact same time.
"My question, I want to know what had Wu Xie running."
"Give me a moment, if I can figure out where we are I can tell."
Both Wu Xie and Qiling looked at the other in surprise. And didn't turn their eyes away from the other.
Oh, yes. He had forgotten again. The snake. Qiling had always quieted him down before. Telling him that bandaging his wound was more important. Automatically feeling for the cloth of the bandage, as if ascertaining himself that it was still there. A prove that somehow and to some extent Qiling cared about him.
He still wasn't sure about the whole 'you're save' thing, and what it really meant. That was just the moment when he saw Qilings eyes darken a bit. In the dim light it was barely visable but he thought that Qiling seemed – worried?
Then he heard him calling his name. "You are save" Qiling repeated, the sentence that had been on Wu Xie's mind. And he held himself back, so he wouldn't ask Qiling 'what do you mean by that'. Because to Wu Xie it seemed like it meant so much more and at the same time less. It was confusing.
"Will you tell me why you were running." Qiling asked, calm and his eyes still fixed on Wu Xie.
"Mud", Wu Xie answered with the very first thing that came to mind. He hadn't really had the time to think about it other than to get as far away as possible before Qiling had caught him. But somewhere the information that mud could help him hiding from them was saved in his brain.
He had been running to get away and find some mud.
"You ran from – mud" Fatty sounded dumbfounded. Well, like that it really did sound dumb.
"Not from to." Wu Xie complained. "There was that scaly, poison spitting flying monster jumping at me. So I ran, first away and then find some mud so yea-" Wu Xie sounded something between unsure and pouting.
Had Fatty really believed he would run away from some mud.
