"I mean", Wu Xie stopped for a moment trying to get his own thoughts in order. "Those things were probably build during different times. –"
"I havn't seen any weird tunnels or doors." Fatty jumped in. After all, normally in tombs when something was repurposed at a later point in time there where a few things that didn't quite fit – even if they were hidden from normal eyes.
A mix of technologies used during those special different ages, different kinds of stone and mortar used. Or even little things like damages or destroyed parts could indicate that there was additional construction done inside the tomb.
Other than the collapsed temple buildings above ground, and the entrance area, Wu Xie had not seen any of those. But remembering what he had seen of what was left of the collapses temple buildings above – even with the beautiful carvings, compared to what he had infront of his eyes right not they seemed to be so much cruder.
"Yes, that's why I think that the temple above and the one below, where we are right now are from different ages." Finally sitting down, Wu Xie kept talking, or rather mumbling if one where to ask Fatty.
"You see" Wu Xie went on. "The Glyph wall was somewhat of a history about this place. Some Kingdome – No."
"Queendome", Wu Xie mused "Religious leader? – whatever, it just called her holy mother. Apparently sent our people to settle here. Then there was that earthen stream. It sounded to me like they artificially build a stream, or canal probably out here – later with no one taking care of it or with one of the disasters it probably ran dry. – That's pretty advanced technology for how long ago that must have been. Well, the settlement grew and they build a temple or something similar for their leader."
Wu Xie yawned before going on with how he would interpret the history form what he had observed until this point. Tomb exploring always made him tired, even if he had actually properly slept the day before.
"Temples are typically either very central or on a high point. I would guess they build in on a hill where the people of the city could see it but it. Then there was a fire, and if the city and major parts of the temple weren't build out of stone it was surely done after wards."
"Then there is some stuff about a winged snake – figured that that was the flying snake I meat. I don't really know what happened after that. But at some point there was an earth quake and rockslide, that buried the temple – could also be the reason why the original stream dried out, who knows."
"Some people must have run away in fear after that. Others tried to re build – so I think that there probably were people who tried to excavate the temple, for treasure or their holy items. But that's just my guess – because it is written that they properly buried that winged snake and build a temple on top – makes only sense that they would try to seal the original temple, such a big disaster, and it must have been big was never seen as a good sign. And if the Queendom didn't meddle anymore – well."
"The temple of truth, how we call it now was the last rebuild. If this really is the older, buried temple, then it was one hell of a stable building," Wu Xie yawned again, settling against the stone wall. "I should study the architecture learn to build something that could withstand a rockslide. The builders must have been really high-tech for their age."
"Wu Xie?" Fatty asked as he drifted too much off topic.
"Yeah, yeah. It would make sense you know – they probably wouldn't even know about the lovers knot and looking at those people, this place was probably pretty feared by the people they wouldn't dare touche what killed a number of them. So, no one other than a selected few are allowed in the old temple and with this mist here – have you ever heard of Delphi? They probably just build a new cult around that until this place was lost in history."
Wu Xie ended his explanation. Now, he just needed something do drink – preferably before talking the next time.
