JARRED
"What the hell just happened?" He asks when the shock of what he just witnessed has sunk in.
Jason rises from the floor slowly the boy he came with helping him stand.
"Are you okay?" Jenna ask.
Jason nods.
"Fine. I just pushed a little past my limit" he says.
"That's great...now what the hell was that thing?" Jenna says.
Jason throws himself on the couch and lays back.
"An infected" he says. "Basically a monster born from some kind of virus"
"A virus?" Jenna asks and turns to the boy "and that thing you did with your hands...the fire"
Tyler leans against the wall his eyes glued to Jason.
"I'm Tyler. Jason and I have special...abilities that came from the same virus"
"And by gifts you mean superpowers?" Jarred says.
Tyler nods.
"Wow. That makes perfect sense" Jarred says rubbing his head.
"I still don't understand" Jenna says.
Jason stands up and takes a look around at the destroyed kitchen and broken glass.
"I'll explain everything to you later I swear. But right now we need to do something about all this"
Jenna and Jarred sigh loudly.
"We have no hope of cleaning it all up in time" Jarred says.
"Even if we did, what would we do about the glass and my broken closet upstairs?" Jenna says.
A smile spreads on Jasons face.
"You just gave me an idea" he says.
When it comes to lies, cover ups and deceit there's no one more creative than Jason. Ever since they were kids when the three siblings got in trouble he was always the one who got them put of it. So Jarred is not surprised by how insane his plan is.
"Try to stamp down a little harder so it makes your feet seem bigger" Jason says.
The stranger he came with, Tyler, nods and continues to make muddy footprints from the broken glass door towards the stairs.
"How is this supposed to work again?" Jarred asks.
"It's simple. Tyler will make a bunch of footprints that make it seem like an intruder broke in chased us upstairs where we all hid in Jennas room..."
Jenna shows up next to Jarred.
"Where I have made it seem like there was a huge struggle after the intruder broke through the door using this..." She holds up an axe.
"Where did you even get that?" Jarred asks.
"Garden shed in the guest house." She says.
"Once inside Jennas room the intruder smashed me against her table hence my cut and Jennas broken table..."
Tyler walks back downstairs carrying the muddy boots in his hands.
"After that he broke through Jenna closet to try and steal her designer clothing but got spooked when someone pulled the security alarm"
As he speaks Tyler walks over to one of the little glow in the dark buttons attached to the wall and presses it. An alarm blares.
"AND THAT IS WHY THE HOUSE WAS DESTROYED!" Jason yells over the alarm.
