21. Knigh HQ

Jenna

Jenna didn't expect their fucked up car bullet riddled car to still work. But after a little engine r&r it started an they took off down the road. Since they couldn't drive around town in a car that looks like it just came out of a James Bond movie they had to improvise. That was when Jarred came up with the inventive idea to steal another car.

They sat at the turn of a local gas station and waited till a car big enough for all them drove in. A man in a red Kia Seranto finally arrives. He gets out of the car leaving the keys in and starts filling his tank. Jarred nods at Jason and Tyler who exit the car slowly.

"This is wrong." Jenna argues.

"It's not so bad. Even as beat up as it is this car is a lot more expensive than that one." Jarred says.

"That doesn't make it any better" Jenna hisses.

Inside the store they watch as Tyler distracts the guy while Jason stands behind him using his powers to swap his car keys for theirs. When it's over Jason nods at Tyler who makes up an excuse to leave and they rush out of the store while the man buys himself some snacks.

"Come on." Jarred says and Jenna reluctantly follows him.

They unlock the guys car and slip inside. Jarred starts it and the man rushes out the store to watch them drive off. He calls out some curse words that get drowned out by the sound of the engine.

"I feel so dirty." Jenna says slumping down in her seat while Tyler and Jarred high five.

"Don't worry Jen we'll ditch the car at a police station and take a bus back or something." Jason says rubbing her shoulder.

"Wait that was an option!" Jenna yells.

"Jenna get over it already." Jarred says.

They drive into town which takes hours. Tyler and Jason look better after their poison scare. Jenna checked them out before they left and found them as healthy as ever. It's wierd to her how people with extraordinary abilities like Jason and Tyler can be brought down by something as small as a bullet.

They make it into the busy streets of the city and drive to Knigh HQ. They park across from it in the parking lot of the little park mom and dad insisted on. The building is huge with 10 stories and their giant K insignia on the side of it. It took thier dad several months if planning with several architects before he decided on a design.

The streets are full today with people walking up and down running errands and rushing to work. It makes Jenna feel better to know that dispire their constant state of having bombs dropped on them recently the rest of the world is blissfully unaware of how crazy their life is.

"So now that were here, what's the game plan?" Jarred asks looking back from the drivers seat.

"Well we can't just walk in there, the whole world thinks were in Africa." Jenna says.

"Maybe I should go, I'm not a Knight so no one will recognise me." Tyler adds.

"Well sure that will get you through the door but then what?, I highly doubt our parents hid the key in the waiting room. Their office is our bet bet and only very few people can go in there." Jason says.

Jenna catches the glare of the buildings giant windows and it gives her an idea. She traces the building for it till she sees one on the exact side of the building their parents office is on.

"There's our answer right there." She says pointing at the window washer.

"Oh fuck no." Jarred says. "You know how I am with heights."
