Tyler

When the door falls open and Jason appears behind it Tyler sees something different in him. The way he stands and looks around the room ignoring all the dead bodies and stepping over them like they're scattered leafs in the garden.

"How the hell did you do that?" Lilly asks looking back at the metal door.

"No time to explain." Jason says.

He takes Tylers arm and swipes the card over his bracelet. It falls to the floor and Jason rubs the raw needle pricked flesh around it. Jason frees the others and looks behind him hearing the footsteps of the gaurds charging for the door Jason broke.

"Run." He tells them.

The others follow suit but only Tyler and May remain. Jasons eyes glow and the door rises off the floor. It spins in the air and rockets at the guards like a frisbee slicing the lucky ones in half and crushing the rest under it's weight. Jason turns around like nothing happened and walks past them.

Tyler looks back at the blood covered hallway and the trail of blood coming from Jason and wonders how much of it is his and how much isn't. He shakes away his thoughts and follows the others. They've never been allowed to be anywhere else besides two places in the prison, the cafeteria and their cells and occasionally the drugged doctors visit.

But after weeks of May digging around peoples brains they know a possible escape route. Jason and Tyler catch up with Laurent and Lilly at the front of the group. There's a ladder and a hatch above them that Laurent is trying to pry open.

"It won't budge." He says leaping down.

"Let me try." Jason says. He hands Tyler the nurses card. "Free the others."

Tyler nods and gets to work as Jason starts bending the hatch with his powers. It takes a while but eventually Tyler manages to free everyone and get them ready to go up the hatch. Tyler finds Jason still working on opening the hatch his face scrunched up in pain and his shoulder still bleeding.

"What's going on?" Tyler asks.

"I think he's at his limit." Lilly whispers to him.

"But he doesn't know when to stop." Laurent adds his eyes full of concern.

Tyler nods and walks up to Jason.

"Jason, I think you should stop." He tells him watching the blood continue to flow down Jasons leg.

"I have to open it." Jason responds.

There's tears in his eyes and Tyler can almost feel the pain he's in.

"You're still coming off the lead and a bad injury. Push too hard and you'll burn out, remember?" Tyler tells him putting his hand on Jasons.

Jason looks at him and the old him begins to come through. His eyes stop glowing and he nods slowly. Tyler leads him aside and puts his arms around him. Jason lays his head between Tylers neck his breathing painful.

"What do we do now?" Lilly asks.

"I can open it." A voice from the crowd says.

A boy with olive skin and buzz cut hair steps foward.

"You understand what we're saying?" Lilly asks.

"You guys seriously didn't think you were the only ones who understand English right?" The boy says.

"Knock yourself out." Laurent tells him.

The boy stands under the hatch and closes his eyes. The air rumbles as blue energy gathers around the boys arms. He points them at the hatch and with a loud boom the energy lifts off his skin and blasts open the hatch. The boy stumbles back a bit but eventually smiles at them.
