Chapter 14: Skipping

Artemis was having breakfast with Katarina. Only when she was about to leave for work now.

Katarina frowned saying, "Aww... I wanted to go to Lilia City with you."

"Lilia City..!?" When Artemis had heard of that city's name, even if it was adequately small, it bustled with life. It was also where she first met Katarina as well.

It was the one connected nearest to the docks where ships usually arrived from their long and short trips, it was also her little city home.

"Let's go," she got out of the carriage to help her inside.

"Eh? But I thought you were going to work." Katarina blinked.

Artemis cleared her throat aloud, "Are we going or not?"

The coachman gleamed starry eyes at Katarina.

"Uhh... Yeah! Let's go!" Katarina chided taking the offered hand to help herself inside.

...

"Where's Duke Artemis at?" In came asking the first Princess Claudia.

The second and third both shrugged.

"Who knows, the Duke of the Athanasios House has never been one to give any sense of respect to the royal Achlys family anyway." The second Princess Eleanor scoffed, "If possible, I hope she doesn't come and give a bad first image to the envoys."

"I guess the Kingdom of Sorcier is already telling us how powerful they are knowing they didn't send their knights over to be with the envoys for protection." The third Princess Rashana said.

"Their crown Prince is quite handsome isn't he though?" the first Princess Claudia chuckled.

The three sisters were giggling to one another talking about such things while on their way to the throne room. The king and queen and their five brothers must be waiting for them there by now.

They all like to be early anyway.

The king tapped impatiently on his throne's arm.

"Where on earth is Artemis..?" He wondered with a frown.

"She's probably just late, your Highness." The queen assured him.

The king sighed, "I know... But once the envoys arrive it will really mean she isn't arriving anytime soon!"

"Then I guess she's just too busy today." Liam chuckled.

The princesses all glanced at them by their smaller thrones near beside the queen's side.

"I suppose he is, Liam." The king scoffed sitting back upright as the doors opened.

Looks like Artemis isn't coming.

...

"Awww.... So cute!" Katarina saw a stray cat in the side.

"You think it's cute?" Artemis was holding one of the bags of pastries Katarina asked to buy, yes, she bought them even when she knew their Head chef can make better pastries than those in the streets.

"Can we keep it?" Katarina asked.

"It's dirty." Artemis scoffed, "But why not. I'm glad you didn't pick up a dog that has rabies instead."

"Really!?" Katarina gasped, taking the cute feline into her arms, and cradled, "And all dogs have rabies, Artemis."

Artemis nodded, "Yes, yes..."
