Chapter 18: Hot

Maria sat beside Katarina for dinner.

Artemis was welcoming to have her join. There was more company than before.

"I'm glad you don't hate the food, our chef did well to cook it all." She said.

"I'm not really a picky eater so I'm fine with anything." Maria chuckled.

"Don't worry, Maria, if there's anything you want. They can get it for you! They're super fast with it that it's amazing!" Katarina said.

"I'd rather not try and bother them too much, Lady Katarina, I'm just a guest..." Maria smiled meekly.

"You're our guest!" Artemis took another bite from her plate.

"Is it still lacking for you?" She scoffed.

Maria perked up, it sounded as if she had offended her.

"Artemis..!" Katarina frowned.

Artemis snapped her fingers, saying her order, "Prepare the desserts... No, make it a feast!"

The chefs all stared with wide eyes with inaudible gasps as they sputtered bowing, "U-Understood, Duke Athanasios!!!"

Before running out of there.

Maria did not understand what had just happened.

"Artemis!" Katarina yelled, "Don't scare Maria!"

Artemis finished her dinner and crossed her legs leaning back on her seat.

"She needs to get used to how it works here." She scoffed.

"You don't need to boast on your money to do that y'know." Katarina puffed her cheeks for a moment, pouting.

"You didn't spend enough money because you asked to come back home with her." Artemis said, "So now you're using it."

"What!?" Katarina shot up.

"H-How much was spent then?" She asked.

Maria blinked. Were they fighting?

"Three golds and that was it. One on the bag of pastries and the other two on that ugly necklace." Artemis said.

"That necklace wasn't ugly! It was cute!" Katarina said.

"It had a pig's face on it instead of a jewel," Artemis said.

"A cute pig!" Katarina insisted.

Maria frowned. Oh, dear, it'd seem they are fighting.

"Then are you planning to spend money tomorrow or not?" Artemis asked.

"I will!" Katarina said.

Artemis immediately scoffed up a smile chuckling as she got up.

She smiled, "Good, make sure to spend it all on anything you want, don't leave a cent back."

Katarina smiled.

"I got it!" She said.

Artemis rolled her eyes walking out of there, "Spoiled brat."

Katarina laughed, "And who's fault is that??"

When they arrived, they were met by such a large-scale building for a mansion, it was probably grander than Sorcier's castle.

'Is that where Duke Athanasios lives?' Sophia awed a bit.

"We're here." The coachman stopped.
