a month had passed since seonghwa and hongjoong had reunited, yet they had only hung out once in that time. hongjoong had been very busy, as had seonghwa. they had only texted on occasion, and hongjoong honestly missed the boy a lot.
seonghwa had missed hongjoong as well, however he knew the younger was busy with his schedules and didn't want to be a bother to him. it had been over a week since hongjoong had last come by the cafe, which saddened seonghwa, but he knew better than to question it.
the beginning of the day had been pretty good for hongjoong, he had dance practice with mingi, yunho and the other dancers, then he appeared on a radio show with jongho and a couple of his other idol friends. after that, however, things started to go downhill.
hongjoong was about to text seonghwa and see if he was free to get lunch when the ceo of his company came up and insisted that they meet in his office. of course, hongjoong obliged, only to be scolded for the day on the beach with seonghwa. it had been two weeks since that day, but apparently his action of running off without anyone knowing angered multiple individuals he worked with, so much that his choreographer had even considered quitting.
"you're not a baby, hongjoong. so why do we always seem to have to treat you like one?!" he had yelled.
after getting scolded, hongjoong locked himself in a practice room and practiced until he could barely stand anymore. after this, he sat and he wrote lyrics in his little notebook. he wrote and wrote until he could barely keep himself awake, finally let his head drop and fell asleep on the hardwood floors of the practice room.
he slept for a couple of hours before he woke up, and upon seeing it was about twenty minutes until starlight cafe closed, he got up and ran over as quickly as he could, desperately needing the comforting taste. he walked inside and smiled seeing seonghwa at the counter, wiping the stations down.
"hwa..."
"joong, hi..." he said softly, smiling a bit. "sit down, i'll get you your drink."
hongjoong nodded and obliged, sitting in his normal spot while seonghwa got to making the boy his drink. seonghwa was quick to notice the lack of energy and how he appeared weighed down and as if he had been crying. before bringing his drink over, seonghwa also grabbed a pastry for the younger.
"here..." seonghwa said, putting the drink and pastry down before sitting across from the younger. "if you need anything else, let me know, okay?"
hongjoong nodded and began to sip his drink, ignoring the pastry that sat in front of him.
"i'm going to finish closing up, okay? if you plan on leaving before i'm done, come get me."
"okay," the younger whispered.
seonghwa walked away and went back to wiping down the stations, then he went and locked the door before wiping up the tables, then beginning to sweep.
hongjoong just sat and watched, only a few sips taken from his drink and his pastry left untouched.
"can i take you home tonight, joong?" seonghwa asked randomly.
"t-to yours?"
"to yours, silly. yeosang's going to be home late tonight, i don't want him disturbing you or anything."
"y-you live with yeosang?"
"yeah... we roomed together in college and decided to get an apartment together until we're each able to afford our own, but part of me thinks he's going to be moving out sooner than that."
"why?"
"he kind of has something going on with jongho. they're both very private though, so i'm not really sure how intimate it is."
