hongjoong and seonghwa laughed as they walked into the cafe, fingers locked. they greeted hyeongjun and jungwoo, then headed back to seonghwa's office to drop off their things and get settled.

as soon as seonghwa closed the door to his office, he gently pushed hongjoong up against the door, kissing the boy sweetly. hongjoong melted into his touch, cupping seonghwa's cheeks.

once they were out of breath, seonghwa rested their foreheads together and smiled as he looked at hongjoong.

"i'm so happy..." he whispered.

"i-i'm getting there... i'm beginning to feel happy again. it's just... it's been so long and things are so—"

"hongjoong... don't worry, my love. i know things have been really tough for you recently, i'm not expecting you to automatically be happy. i'm happy just knowing that you're getting there."

hongjoong smiled a bit and nodded, hugging seonghwa tight.

"i have to head out front so jungwoo can go for the day, you go get comfy and when yeosang gets here, i'll bring him back."

"okay..."

seonghwa pressed a soft kiss to hongjoong's cheek before waving and leaving the room, heading out to the front.

"how were things this morning, guys?"

"pretty good," jungwoo said with a nod. "nothing we couldn't handle."

hyeongjun nodded in agreement, then smiled a bit.

"hyung, how was your date?" he asked.

"ah, it was good... just like old times. i'm happy... i missed him a ton."

"that's really nice, hwa," jungwoo commented.

"yeah, we had fun. i took him out for lunch, i didn't expect it to go so well considering he has fans stalking him again, but it did, so that was a relief. and after we went on a walk in the park, i took some really pretty pictures of him with the cherry blossoms in the background."

"you're whipped," jungwoo said with a laugh.

"whipped and proud, if i do say so myself," seonghwa chuckled. "hey, you go on and head out, jungwoo. hyeongjun and i have got things."

"alright, call me if you need anything!"

"you know i will!"

jungwoo left and seonghwa and hyeongjun were left alone, the younger boy wiping down the counters.

"hyeongjun... it's been a couple of weeks since you've worked, huh?"

hyeongjun nodded, his cheeks turning pink.

"if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine... but is everything alright?"

"i-i was just getting really tired... i didn't want to say anything because i really felt bad, but—"

"hyeongjun, it's okay... if things start to wear you out, it's always okay to take a break. just don't be afraid to tell me next time, yeah? i'll give you all the time off you need."

"i appreciate it, hyung... i just didn't want to let you down."

"honestly will never let me down. in fact, it gives me all the more reason to trust you."

hyeongjun smiled a bit, nodding.

"what time does your shift end?"

"five, but chuu's going to be a bit late so i was going to cover for her until she gets here."
