I stack the final box onto a stack on the back wall in my new college dorm. First day in New York and I already miss my dad, Carole, and Finn, they haven't left yet, but I miss them. Finn is going to college in Lima to be a teacher which is cool I guess. He's gonna be helping Mr. Schuester run glee club, hopefully, he will have a better take on some of the music. Rachel is in New York with me of course, both of us got into NYADA, classes start in three weeks. It will be nice, being in the city, letting all of the noise drown everything else out. It's been five months since Nationals, and you better believe that we won! It's been about 9 months since I've seen Blaine. The pain and heartbreak dulled after a while but it's still there. It won't be leaving.

"Kurt! Come on, we're gonna get pizza to celebrate," Rachel calls from the common room.

There are two rooms to be shared by two people each, and then a common room. There is a small kitchenette in the dorm as well as a small counter. Overall it's a great living space. The other roommates haven't gotten here yet, they should be arriving in the next day or two though.

"Coming!" I yell back grabbing my shoulder bag.

We took the Subway down to Joe's Pizza, which, according to my father, had the best reviews on google. Rachel clings onto Finn's hand in order to not get lost, such a tiny person could disappear so easily. They decided to break up once Finn left, they wanted to make sure that they could live their college lives to the full experience and agreed that they wouldn't be able to do that with a long-distance relationship. Luckily it was all mutual, but I have no doubt that once he leaves Rachel will be a mess.

My dad and Carole are happily chatting about something, everyone is just happy, and I am too. Everything is new and exciting, nothing is the same, it's a fresh start. The train jerks to a stop causing me to stumble a bit, we all file out of the subway station. The sun is starting to set and the air has a cool crisp to it. We wait inside the pizza place for a table, surprisingly it wasn't too long of a wait. We are seated quickly and order almost immediately.

"So, you kids ready for school to start?" my father asks.

"God yes, this summer has been much too long. I can't wait to see all the classes that NYADA offers," Rachel exclaims.

I shrug, "I mean sure. I'm kinda done with summer as well. I'm gonna miss you guys a lot though."

"Awww we'll miss you too honey," Carole assures. "But you'll have the best time in college, you won't even think about us."

I shake my head, "I'm sure that's not true. Of course, we will think about you!"

We get our pizza and eat it slowly trying to savor and extend the time we all have together before Finn and my brother go back home. I feel a small pang of sadness course through my veins. I'm going to be alone again, in a big city, the only person I know is Rachel. God, I'm going to have to spend all my time with Rachel. I love her of course, but every single day, having to wake up in the same apartment as her, go to school with her, go back home and see her. I'll have to actually go out and meet people, make friends, ew I'm going to have to socialize.

Once everyone is finished with their meals we call a taxi to head back to the hotel where my parents and Finn are staying. Rachel and I go back to our dorm in order to start unpacking all of our stuff. When we unlock the room and go in we see two people chatting happily on the couch of the common room. I freeze in the doorway and Rachel stumbles into my back. The two people's heads turn around quickly to see us.

The one with bright red hair stands up with a huge smile on her face, "Hello ! I'm Harley, this is Rory," she gestures to the person still sitting on the couch.

"Hi!" Rachel exclaims from behind me, she pushes herself underneath my arm and into the dorm, "I'm Rachel and that's Kurt."

"Nice to meet you," I say politely.

The other guy on the couch nods slightly with a small grimace of a smile on his face. Rachel quickly moves to sit on the couch along with our new roommates. I follow cautiously and sit on the farthest end of the seat. Rachel and Harley strike up a conversation quicker than you could say "Barbara Streisand". The other guy sits awkwardly nodding along to whatever the two were excitedly talking about. I try to focus as best as I can on what the two were talking about.

"Hey, I'm getting kind of tired, I think I'm gonna head to bed," I say apologetically. "It was nice to meet you both."

Rachel looks at me with concern, "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah, just tired. It was a long day."

"Okay, well goodnight! Love you!" she stands to kiss me lightly on the cheek.

"Night," I hug her softly before retreating into mine and Rachel's room.

I hastily go through my nightly routine of doing my facial regimen, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, and getting into some pajamas. I plug in my phone, placing it on the nightstand beside me. As I'm settling into bed the screen flashes on with a short message.

Have a good first day at college~Blaine

I shut the phone off feeling a sort of numbness spread throughout my whole body. I know that he meant well, it still hurts all the same. I spent all of this summer desperately trying to forget everything that had happened between us. After lots of therapy and shopping sprees, I was finally able to start letting what had happened to go. Now everything was coming back, every feeling of heartbreak, betrayal, and distrust. Not to the same extent of course but it still hurts nonetheless. I turn to lay on my side burying my face into the pillow. I'm okay. Or, I will be okay.

That took a hot sec to write, originally I was planning to write three more other fanfics branching off of this one. However I feel that I have sadly lost interest in writing for more of Klaine, and I feel like it wouldn't be genuine and I wouldn't be putting as much effort as I could into it. Thank you all so much for reading this! I love you dearly!
