I wake up slowly letting myself stretch. Blaine's soft breathing on the other side of the room keeps me from making too much noise. I still feel awful about last night, I don't regret pushing Blaine away, but at the same time, I want to know how it feels to have his lips on mine. The only person I can talk to right now is Nick. I don't know him as well as I know Mercedes or Rachel, but at least it's someone to talk to. Plus he is one of Blaine's best friends, he'll know exactly what to tell me. I shower quickly and dress in the usual Dalton uniform. I make sure to stop by the dining hall and grab an apple on my way to Nick's room. I stand in front of his door and knock carefully. The door opens and a blonde boy rubs his eyes.
"Can I help you?" he asks.
"Right, sorry I didn't mean to wake you, but is Nick by any chance up?"
The blonde looks at me, "You're Kurt Hummel, right? I'm Jeff, I'm a part of the Warblers with you."
"Jeff! You're the boy that Nick..." I trail off remembering Nick's crush on the boy.
"That Nick....?"
I smile, "That Nick always talks about."
"All good things I hope?"
"Absolutely," I nod my head enthusiastically. "Speaking of Nick, did you say that he was awake or..."
Jeff blushes, "Shoot sorry. Yeah, I'll wake him up. You can come in if you want, there is coffee."
I step into the dorm room closing the door softly behind me. Jeff pads over to the lump underneath the cover and whispers in his ear, shaking him carefully. Nick shoots up banging his head against Jeff's. He groans and rubs his head as I try to stifle a laugh. I pour us all a cup of coffee and lean against the small counter looking at them. Both so oblivious to how each other feels. Nick crawls out of bed and grabs the cup of coffee.
"Morning Kurt," the black-haired boy nods at me.
I smile, "Good morning sleepyhead!"
"Jeff said that you wanted to talk?" he smiles back. "Did something happen?"
I glance between Nick and Jeff weighing the pros and cons of him knowing about my massive crush on Blaine, "Okay it's kind of a long story though."
I repeat the story of Blaine being rejected by Jeremy or whatever his name was, us getting coffee, me telling him that I thought I was the one he was going to ask out, the movie not working and him tickling me, us almost kissing, and finally me pushing him away. They both stare at me with their mouths wide open. I blush and giggle awkwardly.
Jeff clears his throat, "Let me just make sure I have all the facts because clearly you two have talked about this before. You and Blaine have known each other for quite a while, he's helped you through the whole bullying thing, and you are hopelessly in love with him, yet when he tried to make a move on you, you pushed him away?"
I nod, and he claps his hands together in excitement, "Makes perfect sense!"
Nick looks at the blonde with admiration, "I just don't understand why you rejected him. Don't you want this? Want him?"
"Yes, but I don't want to be just some silly rebound."
Jeff gives me an awkward shoulder hug, "Well, I for one think you did the right thing. Trust me, being the rebound sucks."
"Why? What happened?" Nick asks worriedly.
"Just a bad experience, nothing to worry about."
I grin at their obvious love, "Alright, alright, enough about my sob story and failed attempts at love. What is new with you two?"
Nick blushes, "Nothing, why would anything be new with us? Well, not us. Like why would anything be new at all?"
Jeff and I both look at each other and share a laugh, laughing filling both of our eyes.
"Okaaaay then."
Jeff lets out another laugh, "Well, the Warblers had a lot of fun performing even if it didn't go the exact way Blaine wanted. Wes actually set up another venue for us to perform next weekend. And then Sectionals!"
I clap my hands together in excitement and let out a little squeal, "Ooo! Where are we going to perform?"
"There is a retirement home a few blocks from here and we were thinking that it might cheer people up."
"I love old people!" I blush immediately realizing what I just said. "No I mean, I don't love, love old people, I just like being with them, not in a weird way just..."
All of us burst out in laughter Jeff falls to the floor with tears coming out of his eyes.
"You- love- old- people!" he says in between giggles.
Hope everyone is doing well!
