// The War Changed Us All //

Estella leaned on the side of the house watching as the man walked closer towards the entrance door
she pushed herself off the wall and walked over to him, and soon walked beside him
"is it done," she asked and the man threw away the cigarette that was hanging from his mouth after one last hit and looked at the woman "is what done" he asked acting dumb but Estella groaned "come one Thomas i am not dumb i know you just did the powder trick" she said and he opened his mouth to say something but estella beat him to it
"i can read you better than anyone else and the little red powder on your suit just makes it easier" she said rubbing the little red powder from his suit with a hand
 he looked down at her concentrated face and sighed

just a simple gesture like that made him happier inside, seeing her in front of him alive and well even in hard and dangerous times he only wants the best for his raven girl

she stuck out from other people, her raven dark hair was shining in the sunlight and her ocean blue eyes just like his, made her stand out even more, her rosy lips were thicker than others and her smile could make thousand people smile on their own,

as she wiped the last bit off, she stood back grabbing his hand before gesturing towards his house

they walked in, silence, nothing else Estella walked into a different room seeing Finn sit on the chair before the fireplays turning around quickly with smoke in his mouth and throwing the last bit of the cigarette in the fire but missingly badly
he hoped his brother did not see it but Thomas stood behind Estella and looked at his 10 year old brother, he walked over to him crouching down picking up the stumble form the floor
"arthurs mad as hell" he said watching his older brother, Thomas looked at Finn then the cigarette before replying
"and what does a 10-year-old know about hell 'eh" he asked standing up straight and hitting Finn slightly on the head with his cap but Finn slightly whined "I'm 11 'sunday" he answered making the dark haired girl smile slightly
while Thomas walked over to the betting shop Estella crouched in front of Finn and held her hands in his
"believe me finn you will grow up fast enough enjoy these times where you can still sit on the street eating mud like i always did" she said laughing making Finn laugh loudly

"what i ate tone of mud and see i am healthy as ever" she gestured to her own body making Finn laugh louder
"and another thing if you want to do something in secret make sure no one catches you...you a shelby arent you'eh" she asked ruffling his hair before walking into the betting shop
the loudly talking of men was heard and she walked over to John and Thomas

while john was showing something the betting book Estella jumped on the desk sitting infornt of John
smiling slightly
"is it going good" she asked and the boy smikred turning his back towards her leaning back showing her the entry of this race
"well well well" she said smiling as she gave John a slight highfive

"Tommy! Tommy!" she heard yelling and looked to her left seeing an angry Arthur stand there looking like Finn said... mad as hell
John gave Thomas a slightly hit on the shoulder smirking slightly before the blue-eyed man walked over to his older brother
"don't kill him Arthur I need him" Estella yelled towards the two man with a mocking sound and a huge smile Arthur slightly smiled back saying a loud "no promises" and with that the door closed leaving Estella with John

she helped a bit with the settings and the writting

after sometime the door opened again and Thomas walked out while arthur yelled after him loudly "I'm calling a family council tonight at 8:00 i want all of us there" he said pointing at Thomas who started walking away before yelling after him
"you hear me" and soon thomas was gone

later on Estella walked into the Garrison, as soon as she walked in it got quiet for a view seconds everyone watching as she walked over to the bar, as soon as her hand touched the bar the pub fell into a loud catter again

'The war changed us all'

that's what Estella heard multiple times since the men returned. and it was true

the War changed everyone, the boys... especially Thomas, but it also changed the woman at home
Polly went from a loving woman to a woman desperate to keep her family safe no matter what it would take, she can be intimating and scary but deep inside she had a loving heart for everyone she loved

Ada went from sweet kid to a tough woman who knows what she wants for her and also her family, fights were regular after the war because she could not do something she wanted... a feisty woman she turned into

and Estella... oh Estella, a sweet innocent girl turned into a mature woman, the pink and red dresses made out of silk she got from Polly turned into black white and brown dresses, she might stills mile as much and her eyes may have the same sprinkles in them as before but everyone knew she changed
while the boys were gone the three woman led the business and soon everyone noticed how good of  leader she was, along side Polly she led the business best as she could and with a  victory, she got feared, but also loved at the same time
intimidating was a word to describe Estella she was sweet and nice when she wanted but if anyone would ever do something wrong to her or her family the sweet little Estella would not be sweet anymore, and everyone knew it

"you came 'stell" said Thomas as he gulped his whiskey down, she sat down next to him giving harry a big smile before talking to the man besides her
"of course couldn't let 'ya alone now could I 'ey" she said back with a sly smile

he shook his head with a smile tugging on the sides of his pink lips
