[Jays POV]

Those few hours I slept may have been the best I've had in a while. My mind has been stuck on Cole, ever since last night, I felt relieved. He doesn't hate me. He never did, but now I know he doesn't.

Nothing could ruin my mood.

When the clock struck and it was time for the participants to head over to the dining hall for breakfast, I couldn't help but smile. I get to see him again.

Less than a minute later, a big toothy grin catches my attention.

"Hey Cole!"

"Hey Jay. How are you?"

I didn't wanna tell him I was over the moon with joy and it was because of him. We just repaired this friendship, I don't wanna be too clingy.

"I'm good. Great even. I feel unstoppable today."

I can't stop smiling. Surely my face would be sore soon.

"I'm glad to hear that. Come on, let's go grab something to eat."

He grabs my hand, guiding me to our food. I knew where to get it from, but I'm not complaining. After finding our friends, and taking a seat, our attention turns to the match board.

Everyone seems to be so interested in who's fighting. The excitement of finding out is intoxicating me, so without another thought, I march over to the board to take a look for myself.

My jaw dropped. I'm pretty sure if it was possible, it would have dropped to the floor.

"I HAVE TO FIGHT COLE?!?."

Today was supposed to be a good day, but I guess that's what you get for entering a tournament with your friends. Your bound to be pinned onto one another eventually.

I turn to face Cole. His eyes wide, frozen in place with shock. I guess he didn't wanna fight me either.

For some reason, my body begins to fill with rage. How could they do that? How DARE they do that. It's not fair. I don't want to fight Cole. I can't fight Cole.

I storm off, making my way back to my room before collapsing on my bed. They can't make me fight if I leave, right?. I'll just swim back, sure it's a long swim, but it beats fighting Cole. There's nothing I can do. They're gonna make me fight Cole. I can't fight the guy I li-

All my thoughts are cut off when I hear a knock at the door.

[Coles POV]

This is absolutely ridiculous. They can't make me fight Jay. There's no way I'd ever lay a finger on him.

Before I can manage to ask Jay if he's okay, he's gone. The last I see of him before he completely disappears down the hall is small sparks of lightening cover his hand. He must be as mad about this as I am.

Following him to his room, I'm hesitant to knock on the door, what if he doesn't wanna see my right now. I'm supposed to be his enemy at the moment.

What am I saying, it's Jay. I knock at this door, and hear a small "come in."

[Jay's POV]

"Cole!" I run into him. Hesitantly, i hug him. I don't know what else to do.

"Are you okay? I saw you walk off. If it means anything, I don't want to fight you either."

I let go of Cole. There has to be something we can do so we don't have to fight. As we walk over to my bed, we begin to brainstorm ideas.
