[Nyas POV]
I sat in silence for a second. Did Jay just say what i think he did. Did Jay really just admit to liking Cole, in the same way he used to like me.
The look on his face grew more frightened the longer I didnt reply, but I still didnt know what to say. There are so many different things i wanted to say to him, but one wrong word and everything between Jay and I is destroyed again.
"Jay.. theres nothing wrong with that."
He looks me in the eyes before breaking contact, looking away.
"I just dont know how to tell him. We've always just been team members, what if these feelings destroy the team. What if Cole dosent even feel the same way."
"No matter what happens Jay, the team will always be there for you. You know that. Just trust your instincts and whatever happens, happens. Besides something tells me Cole might like you too."
The air around us suddenly changes, welcoming the feeling of sudden shock.
"How can you be so sure that he dose?"
"He dosent just hug anyone Jay. You know Cole isnt the affectionate type, so for him to hug you more than once is definately a good sign."
"Yeah. Yeah your're right! Thank you Nya!"
I'm met with a tight hug from Jay. Hes happy. Genuinely happy. I missed seeing him like this. I give him a hug back, returning the tight pressure hes giving me. It was comforting in a way. The sort of way when you would come home after a cold day to drink a hit chocolate. It was farmiliar, and it was good.
I missed Jay, a lot. Not in the romantic way, not anymore, but as a person for company. A friend. A platonic partner if you would. Whatever happens between him and Cole now, i just hope he knows i'll always be here for him.
[Jays POV]
Nya always knows what to say. She always knows how to make me feel better.
After out chat, i told her she could stay for a while. Agreeing, Nya and i spent the rest of the afternoon listening to music, eventually singing along to some of our favourite songs.
Nya would get up and dance every once and a while. I attempted to join her, but it was a little hard to do with a fractured foot. She held me up each time i stumbled, and we continued to just be ourselves for the next few hours.
She informed me that she needed to leave before Chen noticed she was on the island, and needed to disguise herself as one of his kabuki like she had the night before.
Wishing her luck as she exits my door, i go back my bed, just lying there.
Talking to myself, i begin recapping today.
"I just admitted that i like Cole."
"I just told my ex that i like the guy that broke us up."
"Oh my gosh i just came out to Nya"
"What if she tells the others, oh no im screwed."
I start to panic, my heart racing.
"She wouldnt tell them, Nya isnt like that. I'm just over thinking this, thats all. I've got nothing to be afraid of."
I finally fall asleep, allowing the days conversation to disappear as my dreams come in. Sure i was stoll scared for what the future had in store for me, but one thing is certain.
I like Cole.
